This was a lovely bar that we found while walking near our hotel. It has an unassuming storefront although the space itself is quite deep and spacious inside. The specialty is matoya oysters sourced from the Shima area. Having had some so-called Japanese oysters before (most of which is now grown in California) which ended up quite mealy, these were a refreshing surprise.
The raw oysters are the best. They also have other preparations like steamed, vinegar marinated, fried, cheese baked, etc which can act as a nice counterpoint. The tofu and seaweed salad and minced croquettes are tasty too. The steamed rice with clams was a little bland but tasted better with a little of the tableside soy and vinegar sauce.
