Matsuya Shijo Karasuma Shop — Restaurant in Kyoto

Food was decent, just your average beef bowl dish. But I am eternally grateful for this shop as I left my bag with all the important items at the store.

I only realized this after I walked 30 mins back to the hotel, and realized I left the bag which contains the hotel door key at the store. I then rushed back to the shop (which took another 15 min), only to find that my bag (and everything inside it) is safe and sound.

The staff was helpful too when I called the store to ask about my bag, they said that they cannot locate the bag, but will call me back as soon as they find the bag.

Would come here again just to support this ...

All the sauces are labeled “Yakiniku Sauce”, but they taste completely different. Sweet is mellow, BBQ is punchy, Ponzu is tangy. 🧂Pro tip: Don’t mix Ponzu and BBQ. You’ll summon chaos. You’ve been warned. 😂

But honestly, food was great. For around $5, this is peak value in Japan. Just label the sauces, and world peace...

Rude staff did not help an ordering error. Just kept on saying sorry, sorry. There was a way to pay a bit more or less to correct the error. He did not do anything to be helpful in the least. Furthermore, he seemed to give an obnoxious smile. Poor service at this particular establishment....
