I had truly had one of the best dining experiences of my life at Mirin Korean Cuisine. Though this restaurant is technically reservation only, Mrs. Kin still gave my reservation-lacking party of 5 a warm welcome into her tiny restaurant. She made me feel like I was at grandma's house. She does not speak English, but patiently chatted with our lower level of Japanese. Since we were unable to properly read the menu, she started serving us delicious food and it just kept coming. Even with drinks (delicious and strong) and all of us eating as much as we could, it was less than ￥9000 for all 5 of us. Very authentic, home-cooked style of Korean food. I will give credit to the owner who tried very pleasantly to communicate with me in English. She was warm and welcoming. The food was far from a decent experience. I ordered Korean BBQ which at this restaurant consisted of a few garnishes and a reheated (grill) pork. It was so oily and not as expected for a bbq grill entree. So disappointed!! Upon seeing that I still had pork on my dish, she took the plate - and I thought other meat would come my way - but, wait, the same pork came back heated with kimchi with an extra strand of hair! My husband and I loved this place. I was really in the mood for kimchi and found mirin on Google. It was just a few blocks from my hotel and I feel like I hit the jackpot. The owner cooked our meal which made it that much more special. We had sochu, lots of kimchi and pickled veggies, a spiced sesame lettuce wrap, bibimbap and an octopus veggie dish. It was fantastic. The owner made us feel so at home even though there was a language barrier. She is so kind.
