It wouldn't have been a proper Kyoto experience if I had left the city without trying one of its most traditional foods. The yuba hotpot was a real delicacy! Delicious from start to end. I think they only serve lunch, because the place closes at 18. And they have only 3 choices on their menu. Besides the basic version with chicken and mushrooms, they offer a vegetarian and a vegan one (but they all cost 2400 yen). Additionally, they also were offering a seasonal special (autumn in my case), mainly with mushrooms, price was slightly higher. I had the basic one and loved it. The yuba, when cooked, had a very soft, wrinkly texture and was savoury with a bit of a sweet flavour. So yum! Mushrooms are so fresh and complement the yuba well.
Great customer service - the waitresses kindly helped us with the prep being our first time to try this delicacy.
