Found the restaurant on Airbnb experience and upgraded the menu and added sake tasting. This was definitely one of the best meals that I had in my life.
Location is not directly in the tourist places and it's such a great relief for us as late March's Kyoto made us feel overwhelmed by the large tourist population.
Kaiseki cuisine is famous for using seasonal ingredients and we did experience the spring veggies and fish. The lobster sashimi was definitely a highlight for me, tho my boyfriend was surprised that it was too fresh that it's still moving 😆 had a bit culture differences. Sake tasting was so interesting and we ended up drinking two more small bottles. Despite the taste, it also blowed our minds that sake can have so many different varieties like wine!!!

Food: delicious, all natural ingredients, so much umami. Beautiful presentation of food
Service: Insanely good. Hosts were very attentive. We ordered two flights of sake (3 kinds each), and they gave us a bonus one. They also printed a menu for us in English which we are keeping as a souvenir.
Atmosphere: Interior decor was natural (mostly stone and wood) and minimal (elegantly simplistic). Local folks also came in for a meal, and it was a fun experience dining alongside locals and at the same time being able to ask questions in and see a menu in English.
Highly...
