Kamogawa Park — Attraction in Kyoto

Great, free to enter park located next to the Kyoto Botanical Garden. Restrooms are a bit of a walk to get to but the park has trash cans, benches, and plenty of open green space for families, groups, and individuals to sit down, relax, have a picnic, or play with a ball. Very nice on sunny days as well since there is a lot of shaded areas under trees along the roadside. The negative is the noise from the nearby roads, the danger to children therein, and the distance required to walk to nearby convenience stores...

This is a family-friendly, lovely park running the length of the Kamogawa River between Imadegawa / Demachiyanagi & north of Kitaoji on the western bank, with rolling grass for Frisbees, kite-flying, picnicking, or quiet strolls with a loved-one. My favorite spot in Kyoto~! You can just sit freely on the grass or bench, and spend your afternoon time here. Good spot to catch beautiful sunset when the weather is fine. I love listening to the flowing river sound—it makes me feel relaxed and happy. There are some people walking their dogs and do sports. Such a beautiful ambience in a slow-paced environment...
