I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sugizen, and I must say—it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The meal began with a selection of beautifully prepared appetizers, setting the tone for what was to come. Next came the crab with vinegar, which had a perfect balance of flavor—refreshing and delicately seasoned. The highlight was the sashimi, featuring an assortment of seasonal fish that were incredibly fresh and artfully presented. Finally, the tuna roll sushi wrapped up the meal with rich flavor and perfect texture. What truly elevated the experience was the friendly and helpful staff. When I asked about taking something to go, the staff graciously made a special rice ball bento for me to bring back to my hotel. That kind of personalized service is rare and deeply appreciated. The atmosphere was sophisticated yet cozy, making it a perfect spot for both casual meals and special occasions. During lunch time, Sugizen restaurant offers a 'lunch set of the day' 900 YEN (which comes with rice, miso soup, several side menus) The combination of what goes into the daily lunch set changes depending on what the chef prepares.

Our set consisted of: Cold Soba with seaweed + tempura bits Cabbage Salad with bonito flakes Tofu Hamburg 👍 2 pieces of Oden tempura Mini dish of fermented vegetable Miso Soup Rice

📍It seems that during lunch time, they only have this 1 menu available for order (as we noticed everyone in the restaurant was having exactly the same set menu). 📍For dinner, they offer a wider variety of dishes.

Easily the best food we’ve had on our trip to Japan so far. We each ordered the standard set menu (around $45 AUD per person) and wow - what a wonderful variety of dishes.
