This accommodation was very modern but the floorplan was not ideal. Moreover it had a lot of off-putting rules.
We had a premium tatami room that slept 4: one double bed, one sofa bed and two futons in the tatami room. Not a lot of space for luggage. Nice fluffy duvets but all of the pillows had a musty sweaty smell. Pretty gross.
The kitchen was located in a tiny separate room off to the side but the two individual toilet rooms. The bathroom had large double sinks, the laundry machine and shower.
The shower ventilation system had a dryer feature which enable drying of the clothes in just a few hours which was amazing.
Aside from that, the part most off putting were all the rules that were read to you which did not make me feel welcome. No loud talking in the hall. No parking bicycles in or out of the hotel. Don’t lose your card keys. Don’t open the window more than 10cm. Don’t use your balcony. Don’t leave your luggage as trash. The fact that the lobby, elevator and hallways were not air conditioned made it feel unwelcoming too.
Overall, the location was nice; in a neighborhood with young families. Nearby konbinis and a supermarket were pluses. Easy to get to shopping, the River and various train lines. I wouldn’t stay here again but I did like...
Read moreWhen I booked the room, I didn’t indicate that it was an unoccupied hotel. I had to go to another place to check in and get the room card😠, so I couldn’t check in after we arrived at the hotel. It took me a few long-distance calls to ask that this hotel had to go back to Kyoto I went through the check-in procedure next to the station. On the same day, other tenants encountered the same problem as me and could not check in. Oh my God! It cost me 300 yuan for a round-trip taxi. When you check in, you must first receive emails on your mobile phone and fill in a lot of information, but the interface is very poorly designed. When filling in your nationality, you must be in hundreds of countries around the world. Find your nationality in the country, and everyone has to fill it out once. (Not sorted by strokes or English words), the waiter's attitude is very good, but it's useless, she can't help you! Room facilities and sanitation are good. But if you are not a travel expert, it is not...
Read moreWow!!! This by far has been our favorite of all the hotels we have stayed in Japan, if you are looking for a combination of traditional and modern this is it!. We first thought it was inconvenient as we were nervous and have never been in Japan and felt so different than Tokyo, but once we were settled, we all agreed it was the best so by far, beautiful, clean and super safe!!! We even left our teenagers move by themselves in the area. Just be mindful that some restaurants close early or check the times and days they close, go to a Konbini and pack up on snacks, the rooms have refrigerator, microwave, hairdryer, toothpaste, pj's, name it, they have it! Kyoto is absolutely beautiful! I would happily stay here a month and wouldn't miss home one bit!! Enjoy...
