It was an extremely hot and humid afternoon and I had just left Adashino Nenbutsuji Temple nearby. I found this mom n pop cafe while walking through this upscale-looking residential neighborhood in Kyoto. If it weren't for the sign outside, I would've walked past this spot too! With the greenery around the shop, it was quite hidden! Inside, the shop looks really cute and feels very comfortable, like I'm in someone's house. It was 30 minutes before closing and yet, the owner was so nice and still offered to make some drinks on the menu. I just had a iced matcha tea which was really refreshing and definitely hit the spot!

Had a warm matcha (not a latte) and Japanese cheesecake, everything is as expected. Atmosphere is cozy and cute with soft jazz, and the light through the large glass was is beautiful. I only wish it was cooler in the cafe after walking around the temples, but I wouldn't say it was hot in the cafe. Owner is a cute old lady rummaging around in the back preparing your drinks and food :)

A place that is hidden away in a privat garden and operated by a welcoming owner. The atmosphere is intimate and peaceful with a great view of the garden. Soothing jazz plays as you browse the limited but tastefully selected menu. Both the Japanese Cake and the cold Matcha were of great quality and tasted delicious! If you are in the area, I would advise you to stop by.
