(English review below) 弘法山古墳へお花見に行く途中、バスから見つけたお店。

車窓からでも目立っていた、大きなウィンドウとHigh Fiveのネーム、ドライフラワーのスワッグ。代官山や渋谷二丁目にでもありそうな外観。 長野駅行きのバスから、松本市美術館で下車後5分、明るい店内に入ると、コーヒーの香りと、焼き菓子の香り。 メニューには、様々な産地のコーヒー各種と、フードの他に、チャイの文字も。(マサラチャイも袋で販売されている) Deus Ex Machina Harajukuでよく飲んだダーティーチャイがあったので、嬉しくなって頂くと、スパイシーでスッキリしたラテで、ほどよい甘さ。 まだ慣れない春の信州の寒さに、ピッタリのホットドリンクでした。

お店の方は、都内でバリスタをされていたこともあったり、よくニューヨークに買い付けに行かれるらしく、ミニマリスティックで洗練されたスタイルも頷ける。 他にも、長野県内外のすてきなショップカード・イベントチラシを沢山置いているので、テイストの良いなにかを見つける為にも通いたい。 (アメリカ買い付けのビンテージFire Kingを数点揃えているので、その辺も要注目)

Very distinctive and unusually hip (for an outer-Tokyo location!) coffee shop is located just about 5min walk from the Matsumoto museum. As fellow hipster travelers may have already spotted this Brooklyn-inspired joint, this place is as relaxing and chill as you can imagine.

If you're tired of heading to Starbucks(mainly for wifi nowadays, no?) this is your new go-to to fuel up your daily caffeine, grab some afternoon grub, or hold something warm to walk with on the way back from the museum. Dirty chai latte (what I tried) was a must if you've never had it, a spicy and soothing twist to an ordinary latte.

Personally, I thought the place was more west-coast, with pale woody interior(like VERVE coffee of Santa Cruz,) but the barista duo is definitely Brooklyn-inspired and they are for real. Ask them about their new finds of vintage Fire Kings, or their pilgrimage about Smorgasburg. Though I'm new to Nagano myself, I think I've found myself a nook. Can't...

It was a pleasant experience to visit and enjoy a coffee. Overall, I found the cafe to be quite enjoyable, although there were a few aspects that prevented me from fully appreciating it. The service felt a bit unusual, and I am unsure why, perhaps the server was a little reserved, but I will attribute it to a possible off day, which we all experience. Just wished that there could be a little more food items on the menu, at least a few flavour of sandwiches. There were only pressed sandwich of the day, scones, cookies. Flavour of the day was basil chicken.
