As a Canadian visiting Japan, my wife and I were thrilled to discover Kozukata Jajamen! The jajamen here is absolutely delicious, with rich, savory flavors that instantly made us glad we choose to come here. The noodles, tender pork, and the famous broth served after were all outstanding. What really set the experience apart was the owner. Despite my Japanese being about as advanced as a two-year-old's, he patiently guided us through the ordering process and helped us customize our flavors. His warmth and friendliness made us feel right at home. The shop itself has a cozy, vibrant atmosphere that kept us company while we waited and the service was quick. We felt an authentic touch in every detail, and it’s clear that this place is loved and well taken care of. I highly recommend to anyone craving a memorable and delicious meal! What's not to love? Fantastic flavors, a welcoming owner, and an atmosphere that feels a bit like home. Kozukata Jajamen is a must!

Nice jajamen. We had the cha shu and original versions. The cha shu is tender and the portions are just nice. We went also for the chee tan which is leave some noodles at the end, crack and egg and stir into the noodles. The server will then put hot soup/water over and it becomes a soup/gravy version noodles and different way of eating. The flavour is different too. There was a queue when we went around 1230. But the service took quite a while as they only had two staff. Though the restaurant is not fully seated and with queue outside, they don't seat everyone in. Took around 30 mins wait in line.

English speakers, don't be afraid!!! The owner speaks some English, is very friendly and helpful when you order, and most importantly: the food is excellent. He's a 2nd generation owner and it's been open for 36 years (for a reason). Go down the stairs and find this place!!! + Get the soup for the traditional Morioka experience (just a bit extra). You put an egg in the noodles when you're almost done eating, the chef puts hot water in your bowl, and you have a delicious soup to finish your meal. + My wife and I love this place, and will be back next time we visit Morioka.

Had dinner here while we were visiting Morioka, got the spicy and non-spicy jajamen sets with tonkatsu and egg drop soup. The food was delicious and we would come back again. Special shoutout to the lady working there on the day we visited, she saw us struggling to order and brought out an english menu for us. She even helped us to order, asked if were okay with spicy, and if we wanted the tonkatsu and egg drop soup. When she brought the food over she even taught us how to eat the jajamen and reminded us to leave some sauce and noodles for the soup at the end. The food was really good but have to give a special shoutout for the...
