Joy Guru — Restaurant in Nagano

I wanted to give zero rating for this restaurant but that is not feasible, so I will share my experience. We ordered biryani(ate at the restaurant), curries and roti/naan(take out). Biryani - I would say it chicken fried rice instead of biryani. No masala and no sides(raita) for biryani. The rice is half cooked. So overall biryani was not up to the mark. Curries - We order chicken curry and palak chicken curry and requested to make it spicy. When we took a look at the curry we were confused for a minute if we ordered single curry or 2 curries because both(chicken curry and palak chicken) looks exactly same. And curries were sweeter then butter chicken and in palak curry there’s no palak at all. The chicken is half cooked. Roti and Naan - The garlic naan had no garlic. Coming to roti, it is the worst roti I ever had. We asked if roti is made of wheat but it turns out it is made with wheat and maeda due to which rotis became hard. As we did not had any option we ate half of the rotis and we had to leave the other half in the trash.

Service - The man in the restaurant has this fake smile to Indians which was worst than food.

The owner is from Calcutta and started this restaurant in Nagano in the 1990s. He is friendly and jovial. The curry is good (like many other Indian restaurants in Japan, the spices have been altered to better suit a local palette). I had the all-you-can-eat lunch buffet. There were four curries available and while they lacked large visible pieces of fish, lamb, chicken and chick peas, all four were tasty. The lunch buffet include one piece of freshly baked nan. The next time I have an opportunity to visit, I’d like to try his roti about which he is especially proud. The restaurant is not closed on Tuesdays even though it appears to be on Google’s listing. It’s also open until midnight each...

Worse food and very worse service, I have not seen this type of bad restaurant in Japan. I was ordered kabab roll take out with me 2 Minutes they are serving me. I was paying 500 yen and they didn't give me any receipts and gave me frozen prepared item and there is no chicken inside roll only vegetables inside the roll and disgusting smell's. Waste of money. I won't go there never ever.. very very very ...
