Shinshu Meat Center(SMC) — Restaurant in Nagano

I would say this yakiniku is 分かりにくい or I dont get it. High quality meat indeed, you can see from the ratio of the fat and how it looks. I leave it to the chef to season the meat but the seasoning should bring out the taste of the beef but I can only taste the experimental ideas of the chef from the seasonings, or just that, I myself, dont get the taste of modern-day yakiniku, lean pork was served with wasabi but the fatty meat Ta-re should go with that pork. Pork and chicken were not thawed properly, so it was difficult to grill them cooked but remain juicy. The pork chop that was thawed properly did taste great, so I wonder if the rest were thawed properly, it would be more satisfying. (Or those chicken and pork were meant to be grilled half frozen so they are still raw inside, but it just me who did not get the idea.) . Or maybe my choices of beef were too cheap? But I did not dare ordering a more expensive one.

Shinshu beef holds very high reputation, this is the first time I tried yakiniku in Nagano but I have to say I feel more satisfied with Noto Gyu in Ishikawa, Hida Gyu in Takayama or Matsusaka in Mie at the same price.

I took one star out from service because the QR code ordering system is not stable, it went error...

Maybe we went to this restaurant in the wrong day. The dishes they served looked nice, but everything was subpar. The meat was not properly prepared. Some of them even not getting defrosted properly. The best dish we got is kimchi.

To be fair, I wouldn’t say it’s bad. They do serve high quality meats, at the reasonable price. We are usually enjoy the local premium meat in Nagano. This restaurant has wasted those high quality meat, and apples that fed them.

I hope they improve the meat preparation and get the mighty Shinshu meat...

Visited this shop today. Quite unhappy with the service they provided. 1. They pulled my bag to stop me from moving forward because my seat was not accessible from the direction that I am walking towards [due to poor table layout]. 2. I put my empty bottle on the table, they tell me no bottles. 3. Didnt order drink, they will come to ask you to order [maybe u must order a drink]. 4. Paid using credit card, they ask u put pin???? Hmmm dk whats going on. Perhaps this shop is unfriendly...
