Tsumugi — Restaurant in Nagano

Since I made a last-minute reservation for one, I’m very grateful that the owner accepted it. I had the dinner set menu, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was wonderful. The owners were so warm and welcoming. Even though I don’t speak Japanese, they kindly took the time to explain each dish to me. Using fresh and familiar ingredients, they created dishes with such rich layers of flavor that I was truly amazed—like magic! The chawanmushi （茶碗蒸）here is the best I’ve ever had. At the end, they even let me try making matcha. I’m really thankful for this lovely evening and the amazing experience in Nagano.☺️ I hope I’ll have the chance to come back and taste it again...

The soba and Hassun were especially delicious and we appreciate seeing your hostess make matcha for us with such care. Also very kind of you to work around our allergies with creativity.

Dining at Tsumugi was an exquisite and meaningful experience. The quality, taste, and presentation of each course was truly remarkable and was so lovingly and meticulously crafted. There is sincere love and artistry here — the true definition of hospitality on full display. Head Chef Tetsuya and Yuki are as kind as they are talented! I’m so thankful for this delicious and memorable afternoon and I can’t wait to return to Nagano so that I may hopefully have the chance of dining here again....
