A True Nagoya Experience: Amazing Food I have had the pleasure of visiting 黒豚屋 らむちぃ twice now, and on both occasions, I was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience. Situated at B1, the restaurant may be located below ground level, but it is surprisingly well ventilated, ensuring a comfortable dining atmosphere.
Now let's talk about the star of the show—the food. I can confidently say that the dishes are nothing short of amazing. Among the various delicacies, the one that stands out is the misokatsu, a specialty from Nagoya. If you want to truly indulge in the flavors of this city, I highly recommend giving it a try. The misokatsu comes in two different portion sizes: normal and large. No matter which one you choose, you're in for a treat. Each serving includes a bowl of rich miso soup, perfectly cooked rice, and the star of the dish a crispy tonkatsu generously topped with a mountain of fresh cabbage. The combination of flavors and textures is simply divine.
What impressed me the most is the authenticity of the Nagoya experience it offers. From the moment you take your first bite, you can taste the dedication and craftsmanship that goes into each dish. It's a culinary journey that captures the essence of this region, and it's something that any food enthusiast should not miss.
Overall, I cannot recommend黒豚屋 らむちぃ enough for those seeking an authentic Nagoya dining experience. The combination of great food, comfortable surroundings, and a friendly atmosphere makes it a standout choice. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this restaurant is a gem that will leave you satisfied and...
Read moreIf you think you have ever tried tonkatsu (fried pork cutlets) before, this restaurant will make you think again. Nothing exciting form outside, and the place is in the basement, so it's not fancy nor easy to find. Decoration is quite on the dark tones, simple but nice. The specialty here is miso sauce tonkatsu. For about 1800 yen dinner time, you get a set with all-you-can-eat miso soup, vegetables and rice, plus a big tonkatsu in local Nagoya-style miso sauce. The dish is sweet and a little salty, full of flavors that are both powerful and well balanced Both the meat, the sauce and everything else are delicious. It's like discovering the real thing after you have eaten cheap copy attempts for years. The miso sauce marries so well with the pork meat, it feels there's no other way to eat it that could ever exist. You also get...
Read moreMy first miso katsu so I don't have a point of reference really. But I've had katsu and miso and can say that when mixed they are really delicious.
Ordered mine with the green onions on the side, because otherwise their standard version comes loaded and completely covered with them...just too much for my taste.
I was skeptical of having sauce all over fried food because that tends to make it too soft and soggy. However, their katsu held up pretty well and still had a decent crunch to it. I think I would have preferred to have the sauce on the side though.
As if it wasn't enough miso, they serve a side of red miso soup.
Overall it was good and nice to try local...
