After looking at the reviews we decided to try Foresta for dinner, and we’re both very glad we did. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the owner (and chef) who was very friendly and right away asked us about our trip to Nara and where we’d come from. With it being a week night, it was very quiet in the restaurant but there was good relaxing music on to create an enjoyable atmosphere. Once we ordered, he got to preparing our food, and considering everything was done by just himself, didn’t take long at all. The food was fantastic; full of flavour, very well cooked and thoroughly enjoyable. The photo shows the bacon & tomato pasta my wife had, and I had the Japanese carbonara which was truly excellent. Once we’d finished, there was no rush for us to leave and the owner continued to chat to us. As we speak very little Japanese and he spoke some English, when we struggled to understand each other he brought out Google Translate and we were able to tell him how excellent the food was. I’d thoroughly recommend visiting Foresta if you’re looking for great Italian food with a little Japanese twist cooked by someone who really knows what...

The restaurant was small yet cozy and welcoming. It’s run by this one man who is an absolute sweetheart. The service was instant and impeccable. He was so patient and accommodating. UGHHH and the food!! ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! The portions where generous & the pasta was cooked perfectly! But most importantly, the dish looked identical to the picture. An insanely generous amount of parmesan. It was all so perfect, I had a smile the whole time. Coming from Toronto, it is impossible to find such an amazing meal for such a low price. In total we ordered 4 pasta plates and a sausage appetizer which all came up to 54.3$ CA. As a group of 4 we each paid around 13.5$ which is nothing. We where told that tipping in Japan was seen as an insult.. so we restrained ourselves.. but this in Canada 100% tip! Absolutely amazing experience!! 100%...

We arrived late, almost closure of dining time. Chef was extremely nice and cooked awesome dishes that are half Japanese, half Italian. We ate our dishes and ordered another round just for the taste… Everything is freshly and home made. He cooked a unique dish for my daughter. Pasta a la carbonara, pesto, shellfish, bacon and tomato, bolognese, and homemade pasta White wine glass...
