Nara Guest House 3F — Hotel in Nara

CAREFUL: DO NOT BOOK THIS GUESTHOUSE DURING TYPHOON SEASON (august - november).||Our domestic flight to Osaka was cancelled due to a taifun. ||Therefore we had to cancel the rooms.||Not only are we missing out on our highlight of our trip to japan, we also have to deal with the fact that this hotel is charging us the full fee (!!!) despite the fact that we had no chance to arrive at Nara.||We contacted the guesthouse and kindly ask for a reduction of the cancellation fee.||The guesthouse did not change their mind at all and were not helpful at all.||This is very unfortunate and does not represent the service japanese hotels normally offer their guests if they are in need. ||I therefore highly suggest you find another accommodation so that you do not have to deal with this kind...

Stayed in a Japanese style room which was spacious and very clean. The staff were friendly and more than happy to help with bag storage/restaurant recommendations. The location is really good, close to Nara park as well as the main shopping/eating areas. Breakfast (toast, egg, yoghurt, fruit, hot drink and juice) was provided and cooked fresh for each guest. Noise isn't much of an issue, as everyone complied with the quiet hours in the community spaces and we didn't hear anything from neighboring rooms. The hostel is right in the middle of a great area with restaurants and shops and is very close to Nara park and all the fun. We walked there in about 5 minutes.
