ongaku&coffee - tranquil jazz coffee joint Two delicious ice cafe au lait (KR’s with oak milk, coz that was more expensive); A slice of cheesecake, and a cinnamon donut. All delicious. Very quiet, peaceful environment: they encourage little to no chatter (at a low volume if any chatter is required). The man in black (hat included) seems to make every drink from scratch (he maybe even makes the drinking vessels). He is one serious coffee dude. The place is all dark mahogany, with counter seating like a bar. Read moreStumbled on this little coffee shop, or rather stumbled up.. it is located on the second floor of a side path off the shopping street. It was warm ( very cold day ) and inviting. The service was very good, and we were welcomed in such a positive way! I had Cafe au Lait and my husband had hot coffee. It was amazingly good! But the cheese cake. The Cheese cake took me to another dimension! Outstanding, had this amazing floral essence that lingered after the first bite. Heaven! My husband had the warm donut... equally delightful. Read moreOne of the best places I had a coffee in Japan. There is clearly lots of effort and time in every single cup made here. The atmosphere is relaxing and calming allowing you to enjoy every sip.
The negative reviews will warn you about talking here. While it's true that you need to be quiet and keep your conversations low, take this as an opportunity to slow down, enjoy the atmosphere and music, the taste of your coffee and/or snack and reflect. You could even use this opportunity to read, write or sketch. Have some fun spending some time in your own mind...
