Husband and I went last week on our little day trip to Nara. When we stepped into the shop it was like we had gone back in time. Super cute and well decorated place, the man running the shop, an older gentleman, was super nice and ushered us in. We are both English speakers, so we couldnât read the menus, but the kind gentleman directed us to the coffee and egg toast open faced sandwich. It was a simple, yet excellent meal, and the perfect way to start our day. The egg sandwich had cucumber on it (not something we typically do in the states) and it was really yummy and refreshing. Owner was an older gentleman and he was very friendly and helpful. Little to no English, so basic Japanese phrases will be very useful. Google Lens translated their tea options very differently / inaccurately. It's roasted green tea. The iced coffee and egg sandwich tasted great đ.
