Washoku Dining TAKU — Restaurant in Nara

We are travelling around Japan with our son who is vegetarian and celiac, and finding gluten free AND vegetarian food is something you really have to hunt out here. (He is living off of salted plum onigiri from the convenience stores because it’s safe and easy!) So I was surprised to turn the corner today from the famous Mochi place to see a gluten free and vegetarian menu!!! We went inside and had a delicious gluten free vegan set for him, a vegan set for us, and teriyaki tofu for our picky eater youngest son. Everything was so tasty and flavourful! Best of all is that for 100 yen you can try tiny cups of all kinds of different sake. It was so nice to stumble across this place - it was delicious and friendly and reasonably priced compared to other gluten free/vegan restaurants that just cater to foreigners and over charge. I recommend this place!!

Note that the restaurant name on google doesn’t match the name above the door (check the photos) and although google says they are open late, they were closed at 5pm when we walked by later...

We loved 薬zen拓 and stumbled upon it after visiting the parks and temples. There are some things that are not on the English menu but when I pointed out another table that had Kani (crab) shabu shabu they let me change my order. The crab shabu shabu was 3 ways - legs to cook in the broth, two claws, and the rest of the crab was served in the shell over a stove - and it was amazing. Our waitress was very friendly and we communicated via the translator apps on our phone. The miso soup was thick and had pork - which I've never seen before - and was delicious. We loved the self serve sake options - they had small, medium, and large cups ranging from 100 - 300 yen per size. I've had 2 and 3 Michelin stared meals and this easily compared. インスタをチェックして 1月2日は19時まで 大神神社へ初詣に行って奈良で下車して 拓さんへ

16時前お店に行くと 食べ物が売切でスピードメニューと 店頭のマグロのお刺身1パック カンパチの巻き物3パックだけだそう 各900円 お刺身と巻き物2パックを確保して店内へ

テーブルはほぼ埋まっており 今日は飲み放題もないそう メニューは税抜

新政があるので 早速、狸さんのおちょこで アッシュとビリジアン

アッシュのまろやかさ ビリジアンが少し酸味 どちらも美味

旦那様は瓶ビール 中瓶　800円

スピードメニューから ポテトサラダ300円 お酒に合うチーズ600円

ポテサラは燻製された味わい ミモレットのチーズも チビチビとかじりながら お酒が進む

カンパチの巻き物は中身がぎっしり マグロは赤身3切れにトロも入っており 御自慢のマグロだけあってとろける

オレンジの鍋島は甘めで飲みやすい 酒未来の奈良萬があったのでそちらもいただく 〆にアッシュをいただいて 程よく御機嫌に

テーブルを片付けると消費税分割引に

拓さんの美味しいお酒と いろいろ食べたかったのでまた行きます 20250102

お店に行くと テイクアウトのお刺身とかを買えば飲めるとのこと セーフ‼️

お刺身と蟹のむき身　各1500円を持って店内へ インスタで見ていた而今は？と店長に尋ねると 未開封を出してくれた

まずはおちょこ　100円でいただく 素晴らしい

隣で飲んでた方も そんなんあるんかと言って来たので瓶を渡す

新政のカラーズも全種類あり アッシュとビリジアンをおちょこでいただく

ビリジアンは酸味が強いので アッシュからが良い

テイクアウトのお刺身はさておき 日本酒が進む

落ち着いて 而今をグラス600円を、店長にお願いすると ジョッキが格好良いと同じ値段で出してくれた 店長感謝

やっとお刺身をいただく マグロが美味 旦那様はどて煮　300円をいただいて上機嫌

蟹のむき身に土佐酢もいただいて しみじみ来て良かった

隣の方のお勧めの剣愛山を狸さんのおちょこで いただくと飲みやすくでびっくり

拓さんは良い日本酒が揃ってる

2人で6,600円 満足感が高い

隣の方は1時間2,000円で飲み放題だったそう

奈良の燈花会に行く前に拓さんを目指す

つきたてのおもちが有名な中谷さんの角を 曲がりアーケード街に入るとワクワク

15時に到着 だいたい16時までなので 速攻で日本酒をいただく

おちょこ一杯100円 今日は作のインプレッションが並ぶ ４種飲み比べ

食べ物そっちのけで 飲みたかった而今、よこやま、赤武を いただき大満足

お膳をレジまで運んだので 消費税分を割り引いていただいて 2人で4,200円

また行きたい
