The place is located on the 3rd floor but a sign outside will tell you if you found the right building. This restaurant only opened a few months ago but we still wanted to try it due to the good reviews. It is family run and they serve all kinds of food (from asparagus wrapped in bacon to tempura oysters). It seems like a place that locals enjoy to have a few drinks and snacks after work. The son speaks fluent english which enabled us to have a great conversation with the owners and get recommendations on what to order.

Situé au 3e étage d'un immeuble. En bas de l'immeuble il y a une pancarte avec les noms des izakaya/bars se situant dans l'immeuble, dont ce bar (pancarte noire avec une orange dessiné il me semble) mais google lens traduit mal le nom marqué sur la pancarte (traduction toujours différente, à un moment ça m'a traduit le nom comme "22 yuzu"). L'endroit vaut carrément d'ètre visité. Nara est un lieux touristique, mais le soir où on est venu, il y avait que des japonais apart nous. Super bon saké, le repas était un délice, tout le monde discute, très bonne ambiance

奈良で一番美味しい居酒屋の一つです。私は1年間で住んだからたくさんのレストランによく行った。 I’ve been to so many izakaya in Nara city; this one was opened by someone I knew well from when I lived there. Tonight was the first chance I had to try it and I was not disappointed! Food was excellent and a wide variety on offer. Definitely try it if you’re in Nara - one of the best!

Fantastic restaurant on the 3rd floor. We ate at the bar and chatted with the staff, one spoke great English and was very friendly, unfortunately we did not get her name!

We had the cucumber fish cakes (name unknown), fried chicken, sweet potato tempura and - the star of the show - the seared bonito, which was amazing. Everything else was delicious too but the bonito was outstanding.

I had a great time here yesterday after a long day in Nara. All the food I tried was delicious and the staff was very friendly. The best eel I've ever tasted. I even managed to make friends with two of the locals which made for an amazing experience altogether. Knowing a little Japanese definitely helped. Can't recommend this place enough!...
