Tenho Ramen — Restaurant in Noboribetsu

I lived in Japan for 11 years and went here with my wife in March. It is the worst Ramen place I have ever!!! been to. My favourite food is ramen. It wasn't very busy but we ordered and sat watching the "chef" cook. I knew it was way overcooked. After 25 minutes, the old lady gave us the ramen. The noodles were overcooked by 20 minutes. We received one tiny skinny sliver of pork that tasted rank. The only taste was salt and stodgy noodles. Will never return. Give two stars as the old lady was kind. I can't give one star for food. The chef does not have any affection for ramen. Just takes the money from the foreign tourist footfall. We stumbled upon Tenho on Christmas Day, when most other restaurants were packed with long lunch queues. The friendly staff, though a bit overwhelmed, provided decent service considering the busy day. The ramen itself was a satisfying meal, with generous portions and a tasty broth.

Good food, nice staff.

Noticed there were low star ratings but they were all for poor service so I thought I’d give it a try. Got the corn and butter miso ramen, the flavor was good and the chashu was tender. Gyoza was juice and delicious. I tried the spicy miso and the jingeskan and they were both good.

For anyone complaining the service people didn’t welcome them or they were rude. People need to reset their expectations. This is an open air street ramen shop. The couple were nice and even if they said nothing to us other than took our order I would recommend this spot.
