In few words: Splendid, cozy family restaurant. Tasty. Extraordinary value for money. Perfect if you want to feel Japanese hospitality.
TLDR: Having completed a hiking trip on a rainy day, we were exhausted. Last stretch was to visit the Odawara castle, but there we ran out of luck: the bus stuck in the traffic and we did not make it in time for the castle entry (16:30). (Yes: it can happen that the public transportation - bus - in Japan may be late :D) We had a nice walk along the castle walls and then, being totally hungry, immediately started to search for a place to eat nearby. We hit a few locked restaurants that were either too busy to serve us, or got discouraged by our worn-out-after-a-rainy-day-tourist-look. Whatever the reason: we were getting desperate. And this is when 日清亭 came to our rescue. The place was full of locals, but somehow we managed to squeeze in (4). The host welcomed us warmly. We ordered 3 bowls of different boiled nuddles (miso, pork, and gomoku) a and 1 fried (yakisoba). All 4 noodles tasted superb. In my opinion gomoku was the best. The amount was more than enough to satisfy. And we did eat it all with taste. After such a hot dish we came back to life. Finally, on the farewell the host gave us some candy and an origami as a farewell おみやげ for my kid.
One minor drawback: only cash (¥) is accepted as a payment. But this is a regular custom in the realm of the Japanese small businesses as this one.
I definitely will visit again...
