Located about a 6-minute walk from Sakaisuji-Honmachi Station, this shop specializes in “doro” (mud-thick) style chicken paitan ramen. The interior is cozy with mostly counter seating, and the lunch rush draws in plenty of nearby office workers.
I went for the Level 4 — the thickest version on the menu — and it was no joke. The creamy chicken broth was so thick that a spoon literally stood upright in the bowl. Despite the visual intensity, the flavor was rich but surprisingly smooth, with deep umami that didn’t feel greasy or overpowering.
The noodles were flat and chewy, with a nice bite and great soup absorption. Toppings like rare chashu, mushrooms, and onions added texture and balance.
Here’s the key tip: Order a bowl of white rice on the side. The leftover broth is so flavorful that pouring it over rice transforms it into an entirely new dish — almost like a savory risotto. It was honestly one of the best parts of the meal and made the most of that incredible soup.

Overall: This place is a haven for fans of ultra-thick ramen. Level 4 is creamy, filling, and deeply satisfying. I highly recommend adding a bowl of rice — it completes the experience. I’ll definitely be back, maybe to try a lighter level next time, but Level 4 is my...

I was warmly welcomed by the super friendly senior staff and he introduced the menu shown on the ticketing machine using simple foreign language. I love how he tried his very best to take care first-time customers who may not be familiar with the menu.
I tried the classic ramen with half-boiled egg and roasted pork. The noodles were very chewy and I definitely enjoyed the texture. The soup was super rich but still not too salty.
The shop overall is clean and organized. Hairbands are available on the desk for anyone who needs to tidy up your hair. Staff offered a paper apron to me without me asking so that was reallg sweet.
For both the food and service I would definitely recommend you to...

Second, after over 2 weeks in Japan, I can confidently say that the extra thick spicy ramen is the second best ramen that I have tasted in my travels across Japan!
The consistency really is quite thick, and the ramen itself tastes umami and rich in flavour while not being too spicy.
Although I think this type of ramen may not be everyone's favourite, you should definitely give it a try if you are in the area. I absolutely loved the unique consistency and taste and will try to come back...
