Disappointing experience… quite unprofessional. We booked our dinner two months ago for counter seats.(we stay 23mins away) When we got there, they directed us to a dull room. We kept on insisting that we booked specifically for counter seats but they just shrugged us off. You booked months ahead and it kills all the anticipation. Dinner like this requires the whole experience. Not sure if discrimination was involved since we are not locals.
Ingredients ware okay. Presentation wasn’t impressive for the price(especially if you get kicked in the back room) But definitely didn’t deserve full stars.
Food is above average in all honesty. Without the bar experience you might as well find yourself a popular izakaya restaurant in Osaka.
This is a warning review for those that plan months ahead for counter seats. It’s a possibility you get kicked to the back room. For the price you paying, you’re not just enjoying the food but the whole vibe. We still made the best out of it in our own little world, quite like eating in your hotel room on a vacation
You’re rolling the dice if you’re booked a month or two...
Read moreAn incredible dinner, with the star of the show being the incredibly richly flavored sushi freshly caught off the noto peninsula coast, the amami was just amazingly robust and lingered. The chef did an admirable job explaining through the courses even though a rowdy pair of "e-sports" players and their dates were raising the roof as I and my stoic salaryman neighbor from Tokyo sat through it all, but this too is part of the counter experience at an omakase and private rooms are available if you choose to have more control over the atmosphere. The chef also graciously offered my neighbor (i don't drink that night) an additional drink course as an apology for our rowdy neighbors, which i thought was a...
We are not locals and are unsure if this is directed at foreigners.I’ve always had a good impression of restaurants in Japan, but this one left me disappointed in a different way. I had specifically chosen it to celebrate New Year’s with my family, which made the experience even more disheartening. The two of us reserved a 43,000-yen course in advance through Omakase. The reservation page clearly stated there would be a service charge and a 5% private room fee. However, when we settled the bill, we were charged 114,500 yen. I found it odd at the time, but since it was quite late, we just went home. Later, I called to ask about the charges for our drinks and was told that the drinks cost 6,600 yen. The total still didn’t add up, so I contacted Omakase’s customer service. They told me they had checked with the restaurant, which said the private room fee was temporarily raised to 10% on the day of our reservation, but no one informed us of this change. When I asked for a breakdown at checkout, they said there was no detailed statement. I understand that Omakase might not provide itemized statements, but I believe we should have been notified of such a last-minute change in the private room fee. Even so, the total is still about...
