Coffee Roughnecks — Restaurant in Osaka

I hate to give such a cool place only three stars but honestly I felt like this was a dime coffee shop on the streets but only a nickel in the sheets. The owner is nice and it’s a great place to hang out, with 90s rap playing and a warm woody interior. But the Ethiopian pour over I had was just OK, which was odd because the roast was fresh and smelled amazing. The mashed potato hot dog I had was a disaster. There’s no polite or neat way to eat it, as it’s overstuffed with the potato. More importantly, the bread and the potato are basically tasteless filler. The sausage wasn’t that interesting either. Coffee and a hot dog for ¥1300 is pretty standard for Osaka, but at LiLo or Fat Dog Stand your hot dog is a work of art. And there’s tons of better...

To be honest, I do question how other peoples gives 5 starts for this coffee shop. The owner is very unfriendly. We accidentally spilled the water on our cloths and on the floor, I’m about to apologize to the owner when Im getting up. However, the owner are very rude and said ‘what did you do? Why you didn’t say anything? Why you didn’t say sorry when you did that?’ Im sure we did not spill the water on our cloths and floor on purpose. I told the owner I’m about to apologize but he didn’t listen. The owner even said the f-words when we leaving the shop. The worst experience I ever...

Very nice little shop. Ordered espresso and chai latte, both very good. The chai had whole spices in it, so it was very flavorful without being grainy. The owner was very friendly and took time to talk with us while we were there, which I think is kind of rare for foreign tourists to experience in such a genuine manner. I believe you need to order one item per person if you are going to drink/eat in the store (including the bench outside), and there’s a reasonable time limit, as there aren’t...
