Gaburi-chicken Namba-4chome — Restaurant in Osaka

I went here because the yakiniku restaurant next to this was full. At first, I was just standing in front of their restaurant and the waitress tried to lure me in. Since it was late at night, I finally decided to eat there. I ordered the karage, rice and cucumber side dish. Before all of the food I ordered came, the waitress gave me a bowl of cabbage. I asked before eating it if it was free of charge, she answered 'yes its free' (with very bad english pronunciation which i understood) [p.s. I was using google translate so she didn't misunderstand me]. After eating, I got the bill. It was stated that I was charged appetizer which I didnt order. It turns out to be the bowl of cabbage that I didnt order in the first place. Moreover, this place charge you a service fee or a table charge [which they never mentioned during the process of ordering or they didnt even pointed it out when they gave me the bill]. This place feels scammy for me, especially as a foreigner. So, please be careful if you are a foreigner who doesnt speak japanese. The waitress was pretending that she made a mistake and didnt admit that she had said something else before. I feel so scammed that I just stopped arguing with them and paid for eventually. Save yourself the trouble and eat somewhere else. Worst service I've ever experienced in Japan....

Stumbled into this place as it looked nice and busy/buzzy. We were seated straight away at the bar which we liked because we could watch the cooking. Genshin was chef for the night and was superb. Trang was serving - she was so friendly and helpful, making recommendations, and answering our questions. We ordered the salted koji breast (beautifully lean and thoroughly enjoyed as someone who's a bit fussy with meat), fries, honey butter sweet potato (very sweet), fried mushrooms, gold medal karaage thigh, and the parent chicken (beautifully cooked and stripped off the bone for us). The food was delicious, and you can tell that it’s a local favorite. The service however was horrific. You could tell the difference in service between the service for locals and for foreigners. Could not get out of there fast enough.
