This review is based on my first night here on a Saturday summer. The place is a little farther from other clubs but there is a sweet karaoke suite a block away. Played bay area hip hop, edm, top 100, oldies, and something else that I didn’t like. Cover was 2000 yen for guys, 1000 for girls. Free drink ticket though. Smoking is allowed but on my first night there wasn’t too many ppl smoking. They allowed my friend with a crutch to go in but not my male friends with open toed shoes. Security was non existent against creeps.
A good number of customers were bad vibes. One short non japanese creep grabbed every girl’s arms constantly. One japanese girl was vibing with me and tried to wingwoman me with her friend but suddenly showed disgusted expressions toward my overweight friend so i turned my back on her and her friend which they left shortly after. Saw one taller non japanese creep saw a drunk girl and tried to take advantage but her friend shook his hand and defused it.
Most customers were cool. Ppl danced and sang with us. One japanese dude shook our hands and hyped us up cuz my friend intervened for random girls since a creep was on them. It was lit and the club didn’t let it get overpacked which you can see how slowly the line moves. I high fived plenty of people and they loved it.
Overall a fun experience, I would be careful if you have girls in your group. My friend got grabbed 3 times without telling me and she was the only girl. She is confident though in that she would elbow creeps, but eventually she left. Id imagine itd be harder if you have multiple girls, but this is based on a single Saturday summer so idk if creeps are a regular thing but tends to be when clubbing in Asia. To confront creeps either grab their arm if theyre grabbing or just step in between them. Most creeps would back away since they lack self confidence. Most they can do is a stare down. Even if youve never been in a fight, just stare back and show no fear. Eventually a friend from either side will come to defuse.
I would come back here, especially with strong female friends who can take care of themselves and love clubbing. I would not recommend if it’s the girls’ first time clubbing or...
Read moreForeigner physically assaulted by club security staff.
At around 2am, morning of October 30th I was assaulted by club security staff. The event took place after I had approached a girl at the bar. She was presumably alone and made direct eye contact, back turned leaning towards the bar facing me with open arms to either side and nobody in her immediate personal space. As soon as I made the approach a guy immediately put his hands on my neck, telling me that was his girlfriend. I was surprised and told him not to put his hands on my neck. At this point he became aggressive and started signaling for a physical confrontation. I did not raise my voice or put my arms up. Security became involved as they restrained the other guy who was flaring around.
At this point I was happy to see the situation defused, when two gentlemen proceeded to grab me and escort me out. I didn’t raise my voice or physically refrain from being restrained as I was escorted up. At this point we were by the stairs and the other man was being escorted too & he was fighting against the security continuing to attempt to escalate the situation. We were kept dangerously close almost as if to encourage a physical confrontation, perhaps a mistake by the security staff or perhaps not. I continued to remain calm and at this point the two gentleman who had previously escorted me chose proceeded to tackle me to the ground and one guy sat next to me. Here my right eyebrow was lacerated & back came in contact with a blunt object resulting in injury.
My cloak room tag was lost in the unnecessary confrontation by security personnel & I had to negotiate for assistance following the incident so I could get my jacket back for up to one hour. Kenji was the security manager that night and gentleman who was working the line outside at entry (2am) was the one who initiated tackling me & caused physical damage.
The girl profusely apologized for her boyfriend as they were escorted out. I haven’t been in a physical escalation since college over 8+ years ago and was clearly a non aggressor. The incident was handled absolutely horrendously by the security staff, I’ve never seen...
Read moreI will start off by saying this place is extremely foreigner friendly and the bartenders were great and attentive. However, I wholeheartedly agree with the other reviews that the music is absolutely butt cheeks. Like, there was literally a string of ten songs back to back that made me want to swallow my beer bottle and jump into the Dotonbori river, it was comical. However, if you want to party with many people who speak English, this is your spot. Mostly hip hop and some popular spanish songs that really showcased the most mediocre Latin music ever. If you are in Namba and have no other options, I would say give it a try to see if you like it. Not for me though as I wanted to dance and party and wasn’t worried about getting a girl to come home with...
