For my birthday present to myself, I treated myself to a Pokemon-themed room as part of my trip to Japan. Normally I book a regular room for cost-efficiency. First impressions of Mimaru Osaka Namba North was I was very impressed, it has a nice lobby with fun things and the sumo decor. The receptionist was friendly and her English was excellent.||Elevator didn't take too long to come compared to other places I've stayed, but this hotel also doesn't have as many floors and rooms. There is coin laundry, and a vending machine with drinks to buy.||The Pokemon room was very cute and exciting to see all the different pokemon on the walls, and Snorlax sitting on the bed waiting for you. There was a kitchenette, refrigerator with freezer, and Pokeball themed cups and plates. Other utensils, and there is a QR code to scan to see what other items you can rent during your stay. There is a induction stove if you want to cook, QR code to scan for Pokemon themed dishes to try to cook while you are there. The toilet is separate from the sink/shower, there is a small sink on top of the toilet that runs water when you flush it. There is a Pokemon themed bags gift from Mimaru on the table for you to take home. There are two double beds, and a bunk bed. Since it was my sister and I, we tried the bunk beds one night since we never had the experience as kids (lol), but found that they were very hard, so most of our stay we slept on the double beds. Because this is an apart-hotel style, the room is much bigger than typical hotels in Japan, prob similar size or a just a little smaller than a typical room in the USA. Either way it is more spacious. ||The only issue we had and you may run into is noise. If a loud motorcycle/car drives by or revs their motor, you will hear it. Also the person above us was constantly running back and forth, or doing some sort of exercises, and jumping off things so you could hear the movements plus feel the vibration when they landed on the floor from whatever they were jumping off of. At inappropriate times as well. At first it was at 20:00 and I was thinking it would last an hour or two, and I was willing to tolerate it as this hotel does not have a gym. I figured maybe they wanted to do some exercises. But it continued until midnight and sometimes until 2:00 am... so it got very annoying since I am a light sleeper, but I didn't want to go upstairs and ask them to stop because I'm not sure if they would understand. If you're from the USA, you may be familiar with issues of living in an apartment and having a noisy neighbor upstairs (not sure what it's like in other countries).||I still recommend the hotel, and would give it another try or another location when I visit Japan again. I did enjoy the extra space and the...

Stayed for about 1 week in Dec. Location is great, slightly over 5 mins and under 10 mins walk to Shinsaibashi, main shopping stretch where Apple, LV and Daimaru, etc are. Also walkable to Namba side (Takashimaya dept store), I think also around 10 mins, but I didn't walk there. Parking is convenient too where the public carpark is just opposite the hotel. Overnight parking is cheap, 2000 yen as compared to short term parking (1-2 hrs) where rates are like 1200 yen per hour. Convenience store Family Mart along with other eateries like ippudo ramen, Nakau udon are nearby so no issues about amenities. Apparently there's also a 24hrs supermarket and food court abt 10 mins walk away however got to check with front desk how to get there. They will also provide a coupon for 10% off. Room-wise, I've got the family room with 2 single beds and 2 bunk beds (with reading light and USB chatging ports), just nice for family of 4. The bunk beds are solid, stable, built-in with high bed rails, thus no concerns about falling over. Sufficient space for moving about, with 2 door storage, fridge with freezer, microwave, induction cooking with utensils, dish soap, sink, dustbin and paper towel to cater to your cooking needs. Small dining table with 2 benches for a nice cosy meal. Laundry wise will have to do it at the ground floor which is very convenient and 24 hours. Coin operated where 400 yen for 30 mins washing (no detergent required as will automatically dispense), 100 yen for 20 mins dryer (usually 40 mins will get your clothes dry). Net provided also for washing. There's a coin exchange machine too to change 100 yen coins. Only thing lacking is no daily making of bed, they operate on some schedule and alternate cleaning basis which is a pity otherwise it would have been a fantastic stay. Front desk staff are very friendly and helpful and they operate till 10pm. After that to gain entry into the hotel will have to use your key card. Will visit again when on...

My kids are so amazed when they step in. While I was busy doing my check-in they were busy poking their noses around the lobby. Before arriving I've been communicating with them via Agoda App and they reply promptly informing me that my luggage has arrived. As I bought and brought too much stuff I was thinking of doing luggage transfer. They do assist and for Osaka to Kansai Airport luggage transfer, you need to do the paper work and hand the luggage 1 day inadvance and before 2pm. The room is spacious with a small kitchen, bigger fridge (bigger than the usual hotel ones) and instead of TV, they had a projector. By the way, they also have free WiFi. They have a vending machine on the ground floor and a washing machine (coin operated). Location isn't at dotonbori area but is a walkable distance, like 9min walk. There's a familymart nearby just 20 steps away and a lawson which is further down abit only. Oh yes and their receptionist can speak English which amazes me. To sum it up I will come back stay but the next time I will try one much nearer the station. [Edit as at 12 Nov] For luggage transfer, they use Yamato luggage transfer service. Previously in my review I mentioned 1 day inadvance before 12pm. Ok its wrong. I was told by the hotel that it should be 2 days inadvance so of you are using the service please take note. I'm going to drag 3 luggage tomorrow 🥲 with 2 kids so wish me luck. Because of this incident I had unnecessary headache to think through the night for the best way to travel to airport. Really upset me plus its my last night. Sigh.

Our stay at Mimaru Osaka Namba Hotel was more than what we dreamed about. The staff were the best people that we met and they helped us get oriented to the city and our transportation. We traveled in a family of 4 with 2 small kids. The stay was very accommodating to small kids. Our first night, we came late at night and the staff was still able to check us in. When entering the room, the room and equipment was super clean and well maintained. Our kids loved the bunk beds that had chargers and lights at both levels. Our twin beds were very comfortable and well positioned. The bathroom was really cool and it was extremely clean. The toilet was in a separate room and it had a bidet. The kitchen utensils had an electric stove, microwave, and freezer/fridge. All of these helped us because our youngest had a picky appetite and cooking helped us take care of his feeding. The hotel is placed right near a Family liquor store and 7/11. These were so good for us to get drinks and a quick snack. Right next to it is a Umirice restaurant that stays open late. Our walk to the Dotonbori area was so close and easy. We had two kids and the walk for them was easy to get there as well. You can rent a stroller from Mimaru or just walk with kids. Near the exit, there are free umbrellas to borrow if you need to stay covered in the sun. The bottom lobby has a fun kids area to play pin ball, rings, or origami. Highly recommended!!
