I had such a disappointing experience at this dog cafe since reviews I saw were so good but trust me, it is HORRIBLE. They had a choice of 30min/1 hour and I chosen the 30 minutes experience for 1800 yen which i consider very pricey and im glad I did not choose the 1 hour session. First of all, walk in is not allowed and reservation must be done. Secondly, when we went in, 5-7 minutes were wasted by staff giving instructions and putting our bags in the locker. Thirdly, the dogs were very inactive. Usually samoyed is very active and playful however these were sleepy and do not like human interaction. Fourthly, the treats we purchased were 100yen each but inside was just kibbles? Not even proper treats therefore the dogs were not even enticed by your “treats”, and we spent money on 4 of the “treats” without knowing it was just kibbles. Fifth, the dogs were mostly lured by the shop staffs to you and the dogs would not come to you on their own. At most they eat the treat from your hand and go off immediately. Sixth, the shop staffs were grooming the dogs during the session which I found absolutely ridiculous. We spent money for the session yet the staffs were grabbing the dogs for grooming like brushing their teeth (I have attached the photo) which they should have done it without the visitors. I am so disappointed and felt my money were completely wasted as I did not interacted with the dogs which was what mainly a dog cafe is supposed to be. Lastly, I saw from their menu there is something written in English called ‘Cuddles & Treats’ for I don’t know how much yen (I did not take note of it), it was super ridiculous to me because now that I think of it, you have to pay extra money to technically be close with the dogs. I felt so scammed and definitely would NOT recommend anyone and especially tourists to come here as it is a waste of money and time. I even saw other tourists not having any chance to touch the dogs at all. Please go to other...
Read moreWe decided to come at the last minute and was able to grab a spot for 1pm (we got there around 12:15). The reservation process was easy, 2500 yen for an hour per person. When you come in, you will be instructed to sit on th wood bench on each side, and they will hand you a few kibbles in a plastic ball (each ball has a dog's name on it, since we couldn't understand the instructions, my guess is for you to feed it to your assigned dog to avoid over feeding). They didn't provide any English instruction so make sure you have google translate app downloaded. You can pet them but if you want extra treats or cuddles, they cost extra. These dogs are between 5-6 months old from two separate litters. They seem to take good care of them, and there is break time for them between 2-3 pm. But, if you don't like the dog smell, be warned that as soon as you walk in the smell of dogs will be a little overwhelming. The staff will use treats to help get the dogs to come to you but they won't force interactions, so a lot of the time we were just sitting and watching the dogs play by themselves. One dog slept in the corner the entire hour. Overall I think it was a nice place to get your doggy-fix if you are traveling and miss your pet, but don't expect hugs or cuddles unless you want to pay extra. Not sure if I understood correctly, they said if you buy cuddle time, you pick a dog and your turn ends when someone else asks to cuddle the dog or when the dog decides to leave. We ended up not buying the cuddle time because some of these puppies were pretty excited and I worried that they would just leave to go play with their...
Read moreI visited with 3 kids and unfortunately our experience at samoedos was not good and we ended up leaving before our full hour was up. First of all the place is very smelly. I expected it to smell a bit seeing its full of dogs but the smell was a pretty overwhelming. The dogs seemed to avoid or were indifferent to the guests there which I felt meant the dogs were overwhelmed with having people around them all the time and didn't want to have anything to do with us. We were all given a couple small treats to entice the dogs to come over but once they got their treat they would take off. If you wanted more treats it cost money. The dogs were given toys to play with and these were later replaced with chew toys so a lot of our time was spent watching them chew on the toys. More than a few times some dogs would pile up on top of each other and start fighting, staff would rush in and pull the dogs apart. At one point some guests got on the floor and the staff were placing dogs in their laps for pictures (not sure if they got an extra package or something) but the process took forever as the dogs kept trying to get away. While I didn't see any poor treatment of the dogs (staff only got physical when the dogs started fighting) the overall atmosphere just felt off. This experience has really put me off of going to any animals...
