Came here specifically to eat omurice and it was pretty good. Very solid but nothing mind-blowing. I'd probably eat it again.

However, the eating experience was way more intimate with a random couple than I would have preferred. I understand that it's Japan and space is limited - but we were put in a corner with the back to my wall and side where there was a clear plastic divider that separated my wife and I with a random couple. It was awkward. They were less than 2 feet away from my face lol.

The servers were also not very nice, but I assume that has something to do with how busy it was. When we left at around 1, there were at least 10 people waiting outside.

The perfect ‘homey’ meal! Jiyuken was an amazing visit for me and my partner. We came here for the first time for dinner (first picture), and were blown away by the pork katsu curry! As someone who loves katsu curry and had only tried it previously in australia, this was by far the best I’ve ever had! It was that good we came back for lunch the next day (second picture). The adorable aunties in the restaurant make you feel extremely taken care of as they constantly refill your water and make you feel right at home. Insanely cheap and huge portion sizes too, the pork katsu curry was only 1050 yen (about $10.50 aud)!
