This is by far the worst buffet I've gone to in Japan.
For starters, the menu was presented with prices exclusive of tax, which seems to be something exclusive to only this restaurant, with everyone being forced to order a drink which was at least „500. Next, my online reservation was not recorded in the restaurant's reservation list. But none the less there were some empty tables despite it being a Friday night.
After choosing our soup stock, the staff presented us with an enormous plate of beef slices. This gesture was most certainly targeted at persuading us to eat less.
While the beef looked good with nice marbling, the taste was miles from it. When cooked in the sukiyaki soup, the beef tasted of extreme beefiness, grease, oil and sugar. After a bite or two, we all definitely started to feel sick from the taste and texture.
Next was truly the worst, after doing our utmost effort to finish the initially served humongous plate, we ordered one more plate. However, when the extra plate arrived, we were presented with not one plate but a towering stack of FIVE plates of beef! To my disgust, the staff that were poorly english trained were hesitant to bring back the plates, and only after a period of time did we manage to convince them that we had in fact only ordered a singular plate. Next I reluctantly ordered another singular plate, this time of a different cut, being beef rib. This time history did not only repeat itself with THREE plates being served, but started a new chapter with NONE of the plates even contained the correct cut of beef!
After being fed up with the hotpot component of the buffet, we proceeded to order the side dishes, which were mediocre and poorly cooked. The Mayonnaise fried shrimp did not contain any mayonnaise, was oily and hardly contained shrimp. The takoyaki lacked firm stuffing and had a tiny piece of octopus. The crab cream croquettes, had two tiny shreds of artificial crab inside the filling which has no taste. The sweet fried shrimp that was not sweet was cold and extremely oily. When it couldn't get any worse, we ordered broiled beef. However when it came, it looked extremely rare and almost completely uncooked. We ate some and only then did we realize that it was in fact completely RAW beef tartare!
The next morning we all felt extreme stomach discomfort, pain and severe diarrhea. Evident that the "broiled" beef had caused it.
In conclusion, if you want a severely bad hotpot place which causes food poisoning in dontonbori osaka this is the most surely perfect...
Read moreWhile the quality of the food was good, there are some rather disappointing elements to the dinning experience that outweigh the good and stop me from recommending this restaurant.
Most glaring issue was the speed and accuracy of the orders you put in. tables QR code order system was convenient, but ultimately means nothing when order doesn't arrive, or only some of them does until you need to flag down a friendly staff to chase it up, which seems to be the norm with tables around us as well. It would be frustrating at a normal restaurant but particularly annoying when you are at a timed all you can eat joint, there would be time we just sat there waiting for food to eat, again, seems to be happening to tables around us. Our meat plates that we ordered along side the soup base when we first sat down didn't arrive until 45 mins later when we asked for it, and they were not correct. My grated daikon never arrived despite it would be a cheap and easy thing to make I presumed.
Another undesirable thing is they fitted an extremely loud electric door bell on their door, which will ring every time the door is opened and closed. Which means at a busy time with people coming in and out you are just drowned in those non-stop ding dong ding dong in your head. It was honestly terrible.
Overall, decent food quality and service can not convince me this is worthy of another visit, especially considering we paid $15xxx yen for two people (medium tier)
We were offered additional dessert to put in a good review by the staff as well (which was pretty weird as you can order the dessert included in your package already) so that may explain the overwhelmingly positive reviews here, sadly it didn't align with our...
Read moreFound this place thru Google because wife was craving Sukiyaki and this restaurant had very great reviews!! Itâs located on the 5th Floor youâll see the signs for it on the bottom level. We didnât realized that this place was an All-You-Can-Eat Sukiyaki. Here is the run down of the menu, first you choose from 3 different options of meat (all of which are Japanese Black Wagyu). Starting with option 1, „5000/pp just meats and vegetables (assorted Vegetables, Chicken, Pork, and Japanese Black Wagyu). Option 2, „7000/pp gets meats, vegetables and seafoods (same as option 1 plus some Seafoods, Sushi, Wagyu Sushi, Steak and grilled squid. And Option 3, „13,000/pp all of option 2 plus premium Kobe option plus sashimi. Unlimited drinks are also available for „500/pp for soft drinks and „1500/pp for alcohol. Deserts are also included. Staff here are very friendly, we had some language barrier but we worked thru it. Our server was very friendly, patient and helpful. After you select which option your table wants (since itâs an AYCE and itâs a communal pot, the whole table has to get the same option, same with drinks), then select the type between Sukiyaki or Shabu Shabu. My wife wanted the Sukiyaki so that Walmart we did, the broth was very tasty and delicious!! The first initial pot the server did for us, and then all we did was add more broth, meats and vegs throughout the dinner. You can also order seasonings such as shichimi, yuzu, and grated daikon for the dip which we didnât realized until the end. Itâs under âseasonersâ. Overall, this meal was a success!! Both wife and daughter loved it. The Wagyu was very tender and flavorful!! Just make sure to be very hungry when...
