Best Japanese curry we have ever had - hands down. If you like your Japanese curry with abit of heat but not super sweet, this is the place for you. Note that all items are served with curry and a pork tonkatsu. This is after all a pork cutlet curry house.
You will be rewarded with a smooth and creamy Japanese curry with a touch of sweetness and abit of heat. The cutlets are fried fresh, juicy on the inside, crunchy on the outside. Mmmm. I gave the kitchen workers a huge thumbs up and pointed at my food, they were pleased we enjoyed it.
Portion size was huge and value for money was high. Excellent overall!
Short walk from north west entrance of Osaka castle and we came right at the start of the lunch time crowd but were promptly seated at the bar around the kitchen (where you can see how they prepare the food).
The menu is available in English so not to worry if you don’t read Japanese. They are super friendly.
If you’re still reading: it is a cozy and busy restaurant; the target market is the office workers around the area. It seemed to us this is not a restaurant you dine for an hour. So we ate well, enjoyed the food without hurry, then promptly settle up the bill at the front counter in cash. It’s a busy place but not noisy, no one was talking on their phone and if they were having conversation, it was done quietly almost in whispers. So, read the room and copy.
If you are a foreigner to Japan, like us, remember to say your “Arrigatos”and exchange money with both...

This is the best curry I have ever had in my entire life. This is the curry that inspired Tupac's Hit 'Em Up! The food was unfathomably good, it's right by Osaka castle, and the staff were so friendly. The best part of the restaurant: the toilet GREETED me upon entering the washroom. It was basically implicitly saying "BEEP BOP, I KNOW YOU ARE ABOUT TO COMMIT ATROCITIES IN ME, BUT I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THE FOOD BEEP BOP" but luckily for the toilet, I was unloading the...
Read moreOrdered curry udon on the chefs recommendation. Was very good. Also tried curry katsudon udon, was also very good.
I was quite hungry and had curry left in the bowl, so I ordered a bowl of rice to finish it up. Good food.
The restaurant is a bit small, can serve less than 10 tables. The menu is quite small. Only about 10 menus, but that's what you would expect in Osaka.
The price was great too, about 600 to 800 yen for a bowl.
The place is very easy to find. It's about 5 to 10 minutes walk from Osaka castle's...
