I usually don't write reviews, but I had such a disappointing experience at Lo Fuo that I felt compelled to share it. My friend and I chose Lo Fuo as our first stop in Osaka after a four-hour journey from Tokyo. Although I've visited Tokyo many times, this was my first time in Osaka. We wanted Lo Fuo to be our initial dining spot, but after taking the subway and walking, we were immediately turned away by who I surmised was the owner and cook.
Initially, we were told it was reservation-only. However, when we asked how to make a reservation, we received several different responses. I hoped we could work something out, but he was unyielding and seemingly lying with different excuses. By then, we were tired and hungry from our journey, so we decided to cut our losses and leave.
The entire experience left a sour taste in our mouths, especially as it was our first dining experience in Osaka. The fact that he kept giving different reasons for refusing us was particularly disappointing. A straightforward answer would have been respected, but unnecessary and disingenuous excuses reflect poorly on one's character.
I've never encountered anything like this during my travels in Japan. It's a poor representation of the people, culture, and honor of Japan I’ve...
Read moreI wouldn't usually leave a review for a place I didn't eat at, but they had a Happy Cow sticker on the window and so many reviews say it's Vegan /Vegetarian friendly. We went in and they said they don't serve anything without meat/nothing vegetarian or Vegan. This is a bit shocking since even traditional Chinese foods has a few accidental things here and there. I'm home to assume some crazy Vegans came here and made them want to stop serving or the restaurant was recently sold. Whatever the case, I really hope they take the Happy Cow sticker down and stop promotion Veganism on their...
Read moreGot here at 8pm on 1/21 and immediately got kicked out. Only one person was working and he asked if we had a reservation. He refused to seat us after we said no. It’s very frustrating that they forget that people need to spend time and money just to get there. There was no mention of the need for a reservation anywhere online or in the restaurant. For them to use reservations against uninformed customers was unreasonable and unfair. Doubt that I would ever come back to a restaurant that outright doesn’t...
