This is my favorite bar in all of Japan.
The prices and choices are about what you'd expect from a small bar, but even though I'm not a beer guy, I still appreciated what they had on tap.
What makes the difference are the bartenders. All of the staff are excellent hosts, but Joshua and Alyssa made this place a cut above the rest.
The location is easy to find, as accessible on a corner on the first floor near the street. It is so easy that Alyssa's singing is what initially lured me over the first night. As for the second night, Joshua's inviting and genuine personality helped completely solidify my impression of karaoke bars away from initially apprehensive anxiety, and into collaborative glee.
Even if there are no other customers in there, please take a chance and just be there. Build it and they will come. One moment it was just a few of us, and the next moment it was a dozen people all drunkenly singing Chop Suey together, perhaps a bit too enthusiastically. Your voice will hate you in the morning if you're a bad singer like me, but it is worth it.
I wish I could have seen what Fridays look like, as they're apparently even better than Saturday nights. Even Sunday night was great, even though the locals can't generally attend due to work on Monday.
As for the artisanal hot dogs, was assured they sometimes appear depending on who...
Read moreSo I had a bad experience and posted this on Tripadvisor: "Good drinks, karaoke was fun, but the guy behind the bar was quite rude to me for no reason. Was just trying to have a bit of chit chat and he was arrogant and condescending towards me in front of my friends. So based on that I wouldn't recommend this place. It was a bit humiliating and has kept me down these past few days."
The owner responded by saying I was someone else who behaved poorly and didnt buy anything. Hilarious since he musnt have even read my review. I spent a long time there, and politely spent about 70 or 80 USD equivalent between me and my friends. Was one of the quietest people in the bar, and, as I said, was treated poorly after all of that. Since Tripadvisor doesn't let you respond, my review has been misrepresented there, so I'm posting here. Just to make things accurate.
All I'm doing is documenting the experience because it's left me feeling down. Don't bother responding or trying to misrepresent me...
Read moreI was in this bar for my last night in Osaka, the girl who worked at the bar, in addition to being rude a couple of times towards other customers, at a certain point invented that I had not paid for one of the two drinks I had taken, after trying to search unsuccessfully for the bank emails where I proved that I had paid, I gave in and paid for the third time for the drink. After a few minutes I managed to find the emails where it was possible to see that I had made 3 payments to the bar, even though I had only drunk 2, but magically at this point the bartender's version changed saying that I had drunk 3 drinks, when initially she told me that I had not paid for one of the two Trying to talk with her, she was just able to say that “she was fine” (I can believe it, she stole my money) and I had to leave the bar. I know that mistakes could happen, but this girl was just a liar and she doesn’t know how to do her job and sign who pay...
