If you want to eat whale meat then this is the place! There is an English menu and although the staff don’t necessarily speak much English they did their best to make us feel welcome and explain everything I was eating. The head chef personally came out to ask us where we were from and tell us which bit of the whale I had. Really special meal we'll never forget, the food was as delicious as it was unique and the head chef and owner since 1952 took the time to show us how best to cook in the bonito broth as well as answer all our questions and explain each dish. (Even though we dont speak Japanese)

They were the perfect hosts and the owners passion for the craft and lifetime of experience and wisdom was truly inspiring. If you are looking to eat learn and imerse in the culture this is a must visit.

I went to this restaurant after seeing under the name « Purple » on Apple Maps. I spent the best night there ! The food was amazing, and I was received with kindness by Imagawa san and his workers. He made sure I was satisfied and took time to explain me what I was eating and how it was best enjoyed.
