Namaste Taj Mahal Umeda Sky Bldg. — Restaurant in Osaka

Worst service ever. The food was just so so. This was the place that ruined the trip to Japan for us. Every place we have been to has been courteous and respectful but this was just the opposite. No water refills, ignorant nepali staff and they refused to even take feedback from us directly and opened the door asking us to leave when we were being polite and letting them know of their shortcomings. I would never go back here and would recommend everyone to steer clear of the place. I am from Hyderabad and the taste here is trash.

Dets: Ordering was smooth. Then we asked to cancel one item, he immediately went in and brought that single curry out to our table with nothing else that we ordered. Had to stare at the curry for 5 mins. Then he brought out the rest of the order minus the jeera rice which all tasted meh. Then came the bill which is when I asked for the rice. We sat staring at each other for 5 more mins till the rice came out and it was full of oil. Next came the check out process. We asked if he knew Hindi and he said yes. We were letting him know that bringing just the curry out like that was not ok and he didn't listen and just opened the door for us to leave asking us to get out indirectly. It’s always nice to enjoy your homeland food in another country. We stumbled upon this restaurant after visiting the Umeda Sky Observatory, as it is located in the basement of the Umeda Sky Towers.

The server was very kind and welcomed us with water and wet tissues, which really lifted our mood after the heat of Osaka. They offered a variety of vegetarian options along with different breads and rice choices.

We ordered the Chana Masala, Palak Paneer, and Dal Tadka along with naan, roti, and jeera rice. The food was delicious. The paneer was soft and tasty, while the dal was flavorful and truly enjoyable. The fresh naan was soft, easy to tear, and paired perfectly with the curries.

The jeera rice was slightly oily, and the roti was a bit hard, which are areas for improvement. The portions were on the smaller side, so we had to order three dishes for the four of us.

UPDATE: YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...Came here with friends a total of 6 people. Second time here and had great food 6 months ago. Ordered 3 sampler plates and 3 alacart curry dishes. About $95 so prices here are reasonable. Cheese nan is fantastic here! Lasi drink good and found salad delightful. 4 solid stars for foods here. 6 months ago the guy was not this bad! WARNING: Too bad wait staff is very put off and unfriendly. Came here in October and male server was nice and professional. Yesterday both servers were giving off a negative vibe. Really closed clammed up stifled expressions, no smiles, no kindness. Did the boss yell at you? Morale is akward and holding in a lot of anger? If you hate your job so much you should just quit to find a better place instead of making everyone else around feel miserable too. Zero stars for customer service.
