ROOT COFFEE — Restaurant in Osaka

One of the best cafes we visited during our month in Osaka!

The owner, Taka, takes pride in every cup he makes and produced some of the best coffee we had in Japan. Perfectly balanced and not a single hint of bitterness. Amazing!

The lemon iced coffee I had during our first visit set the bar for the remainder of our trip. I dreamt about it having it again. Sadly, it was sold out when we returned but he had pineapple iced coffee which was even better! I grew up in Hawaii and have to say that this pineapple coffee was the most enjoyable use of pineapple I have ever had in my life. So perfect.

And the peach parfait? Words failed me because it was just so satisfying and complex while being perfectly balanced and just sweet enough. I will dream of this dessert when I get...

Very overpriced coffee. Stopped there for a quick coffee while checking my email, but apparently you're not allowed to have a laptop there? I can understand they don't want people sitting all day, but this was just for a few minutes and there was no one else there at all. The barista also waiting to tell us until after we ordered and paid, so it was too late to go somewhere...

桃谷駅の近所にある豊川稲荷大阪別院で「美味しいお店に出会えますように」と願掛けした後、ROOTCOFFEEに出会いました。

入口は「引き戸」です……私、間違って押しちゃって💦右に引いてくださいね～

お店に入るとレジがあって「最初に注文＆支払う」システムです。私は「本日のコーヒー」「あんバタートースト」を注文。

席に座った後、お店の方が持ってきた水が「白湯」だったんです😮。「氷が入った水」は味覚と体調に影響するので、ちょっと感動✨ますます味に期待が持てそうです～。

で、供されたコーヒーがすごい！写真をご覧ください。一通り味わってから撮影しているのに、この量。「どうやって運んだんですか？」というぐらい入っていました💦

コーヒーは「フレッシュな飲み口」飲み下すと「そういえば、コーヒーって果実のタネだった」と思い出すような爽やかさ。深煎りですが、果物らしい甘さを感じます。

「あんバタートースト」のトーストは、ちょっとしょっぱくて歯応えがある「あまり食べたことがない味」……伺ったら、やはり「こだわりのパン」で、「国産小麦」「無添加」を大切にする「dryriver」から取り寄せているとの事。

添えられた「あんこ」も、あんこ屋さんで購入しているそうです。これが……あんこって砂糖を入れすぎると真っ黒になるんですけどね、その直前の「紫色」なんです。そして、粒にムラがない！炊くときに丁寧に選別しているんでしょうね～😑手がかかっています。

パン・あんこ・バターを一緒に食べると、甘さ・しょっぱさ・食感が見事に調和した「あんバタワールド」で、お口がいっぱいに✨

予想以上の味に絶句……ダキニ天さん、すごくないですか？　ということで、思わず「マンデリン」を追加注文しました。
