Were from Hawaii and have been to sushi onodera based here in Honolulu. It was one of my favorite sushi experiences on Oahu hands down. And when they opened a Kaiten Sushi Onodera on Oahu I was so excited to visit the restaurant. However being on vacation I decided to opt for the Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera in Osaka instead. Everything was great until about 30min before they closed on Wednesday, October 30th. The main sushi chef had switched out for a younger one. (Guessing to give the apprentice some time making sushi) I don't understand Japanese however my girlfriend does. And she had heard twice one of the apprentices joking blatantly to the other about me. (referring to my seat number in Japanese) The disrespect the apprentice showed just by the way he held himself while he talked to his fellow coworker clearly reflects a lack of integrity on his part. Though I have been a long time proponent of the Sushi Ginza Onodera based in Hawaii. I cannot say the same for the...
Read moreI visited Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera this afternoon and was extremely disappointed by both the slow service and the poor attitude of the staff.
First, the sushi I ordered took more than 30 minutes to arrive. After I reminded the staff, they brought out two uni (sea urchin) sushi from an unknown place, not clearly from the kitchen, which made us feel uneasy about the freshness and quality.
Second, when my friend retrieved his bag, which we had left with the staff earlier, the person who returned it showed a very cold and unfriendly attitude — she frowned, didn’t make eye contact, and spoke to us as if she were angry.
We chose this restaurant expecting the high level of hospitality associated with your brand, but this experience was extremely unpleasant and unacceptable. I sincerely hope you will investigate this issue and improve staff behavior and...
Read moreI tried this sushi restaurant at their Tokyo outlet and it was absolutely incredible, so when I was in Osaka and craving sushi I decided to eat here. However, I was very disappointed at the quality of food and service compared to the Tokyo restaurant. We were served salmon that was tough and hard to chew as it was a joint / tendon part. We asked if they could remove that part so we could eat it easier, and the staff refused. They kind of scoffed at us and told us it’s raw salmon… as if I had no idea what raw salmon is! I also ordered a cucumber roll though it came with perilla leaf inside ! I cannot eat perilla leaf! It caused my lips to itch. Luckily I spat it out before digestion. I feel like the service here and quality of meat served was much poorer. I had a bad experience and do not think it’s worth the price. Go to Tokyo one not...
