This was the highlight of our second trip to Japan. We've been to many izakayas and restaurants over the time, but this was the best one of them all. The reason why is because of the whole experience: great, tasty food at a very reasonable price, prepared by a skilled chef, served by a very kind and attentive waiter in a relaxed, cozy atmosphere. The place is also in a quiet neighborhood with no tourists. We had a steak that was cooked to perfection; the meat was tender and juicy, while the outside was nicely seared. The soy sauce mixed with red onion paste was the perfect dipping sauce. Add a little custom wasabi paste, and you are in heaven. We also had some side dishes, which were all tasty, and avocado tempura, which was perfectly crispy but not overfried. We chose your place with my wife for our last dinner in Japan, and we couldn't have chosen better. Seriously, thank you for being so nice to us and for the great food. We wish you great success...
Read moreWe had a most wonderful dining experience here, quite nearby the Imperial Hotel. Very friendly staff, who explained things well in English.
Our dinner was Hokkaido wagyu for mains (amazing, we got to pick out our steak; photo enclosed); for sides, we had butter fried garlic, sliced bell peppers with slightly spicy sauce, and a delightful potato salad.
Very highly recommended for your next visit to the Tenmabashi...

In the states would have been easily...
