This restaurant was in close proximity to our hotel. It stood out to me due to its name, and I also I noticed how popular it was on the occasions we walked past - there was often a line up outside. I am glad we got to try it and see what the rave is all about. We were greeted enthusiastically by staff on the way in and got a seat at the bar. From here we could see the staff busy at work making the food. There's just something about restaurants where you get to see staff at work - it's reassuring to know they aren't hiding anything. A staff member came over and gave us a menu in English. We both ordered the pistol ramen. The noodles are hand made and you can also get a free refill according to the menu. You can choose between 1 - 5 pieces of pork for the same price. We both got 5. The pork slices are thin (compared to other ramen places), which they drape over the bowl. I got excited and dunked mine in at the same time, not realising you can do it one by one or as you are ready to eat it. The broth was very tasty and went well with the noodles. It was a good size and we didn't need to take them up on the free refill. Best ramen I've had so far. We also got the special soy sauce fried chicken. Two pieces that were appropriately seasoned, and crispy came out. BestThey also play music in English in the background. We were surprised an Aussie song came on while we were here. There is no option to pay with a card. There was no indication of this until we got to the counter to pay. Luckily, we had cash. Though I wonder how many people have...

Read moreA must try. I had the 'Pistol'. The thick noodles are done just right. The broth is light but still full of flavour. The free char siew (up to 5 pcs are free) is slightly rare, and is good as is, or if dipped in the soup.
As the photo shows, the presentation is top notch, they arrange the char siew artfully if you order it. Even the extra menma I ordered was arranged in a pattern.
No surprise that there is always a queue during lunch/dinner. Just a short walk form Umeda. You can't miss the...
