We where sold a full collection of the Shaman King series for 5,500 yen which is a steal but on further notice in our hotel room we spot a few undesirable sploches and scratches. The note on the product said that the manga are damaged but not used to which is a big difference. For explamle we also bought a different set of manga from the same store and that one had the same note but was fine no sign of use at all. The day we bought it was around 5:40 p.m. and the store closes at 8:00 p.m. we had only 2 hours and 20 minutes to return the product. So on the next day we came right as the store opened when we said that we wanted to return said product we were told that it is only possible to return bought goods the same day they were bought which by the way we weren't told at all when we bought this set. The manager declined the return and we were told that we can sell it there instead. We of course knew that the price will be lower but we weren't prepared for this kind of rip off. The manager offered us only 27% of the price we paid for which is 1,500 yen. I would have expected this from anyones else but not a japanese man the only positive person we interacted with was a blonde cashier who was very helpful and tried helping us with the return. That is about it be careful and always ask questions before buying anything...
Read moreTucked away like a treasure chest waiting to be discovered, this second-hand figurine store is a haven for collectors and nostalgic hearts alike. From shelves lined with vintage Pokémon cards to comic books that span generations of heroes and villains, the place feels like stepping into the secret lair of your childhood imagination.
The figurine collection is a standout—impressively curated with characters from classic anime, gaming icons, and even obscure gems you never thought you’d see again. Every piece seems to carry a story, worn in just enough to whisper tales from another time.
Their Pokémon card selection is a mix of old-school and modern releases, with a few hard-to-find holos and promo cards that’ll make any trainer do a double take. Prices are surprisingly reasonable too, especially considering the nostalgia factor.
If you're the kind who still finds joy in leafing through comic books or hunting down that elusive action figure from a long-lost toy line, this place will feel like a...
Read moreI am genuinely blown away by Mandarake's service. I purchased a magazine from their website, and the only one they had available was from the Umeda store. I am fortunate to have been to both the Shibuya Store and the Complex Store in Akihabara in person, but have never ordered something online. The speed of their service is next level, once I paid they send the magazine out almost immediately, and it arrived to my doorstep (Japan - UK) in less than 48 hours!
The best part is the magazine I bought was given a "B" grade for its condition however it is basically pristine, it looks like it came off the printers yesterday despite the magazine being released in October 1984, that was 42 years ago!! While this isn't for a review for the store itself, I have to give my full respect to Mandarake. Thank...
