Wagyu Beef Yakiniku Restaurant Gyujiro Osaka Umeda — Restaurant in Osaka

It was my first time here along with my partner.

We made a reservation in advance and booked a bbq set. The bbq set was good the first round, but the second sets of meats were not to my taste. We recommend not making a reservation for the sets as I would've preferred ordering A la carte as they had many options of meats.

The reason the rating is quite low is because we did not receive the best service during our session. We had ordered water through the provided tablet three separate times and had our water come very late and the third time, not at all. I figured It was because It may have been a busy night for them but the restaurant was not full.

We decided to order some a la carte meat cuts as they looked good, the meat was never brought to us, at this point I observed staff members not preparing anything for around 20 minutes or so. I ended up cancelling the order and leaving unfulfilled for the night.

Ordered the newly launched menu that comes with 3 small bowls of wagyu rice. As well as the wagyu tongue varieties platter. Barbecue is self serviced. It’s great for the quality of the tongue. The thinner ones are very chewy and can be barbecued to crispy at the outer layer. The thick cut tongue slices are great too. Fully taste the sweet and a little mild beef taste. The three small bowls are truly great. Start with the one that is with raw egg and the raw beef slices. Because it’s the lightest taste. The beef slices are so fresh. No blood taste nor weird taste. It’s great as the egg yolk can cover the beef slices and create the soft and smoothness. The other bowl with one thick scallop on top, which is very sweet and it’s good quality. Good to go with the wasabi but the wasabi is not the fresh one. The last bowl with the sea urchin is good, but the urchin is not sweet, not the best quality. This was an excellent place for Yakiniku. We ordered from a little tablet and the servers bring the meats over pretty quickly for you to cook yourself on your own grill. If you are not comfortable cooking your own expensive meats, then this might not be the place for you.

It is a bit pricey, but the meat is very high quality, with excellent marbling on each piece we received. It would probably be tough to find any higher grade beef anywhere. Of course taste is a bit subjective, but I found this to be outstanding, with excellent mouthfeel as well.

The service was alright.. kinda an introverts dream. They will really only come to you if you call them or order something. Otherwise, they stayed away.
