Yakiniku Lab Umeda — Restaurant in Osaka

My friends and I pulled up to the restaurant to enjoy all you can eat yakiniku with our reservations. We met with Yota, who kindly seated the six of us promptly. Our bags were stored in baskets underneath our seat, and our jackets were put away in another room, to prevent any sort of grease or smell contamination. We ordered the premium menu and all you can drink options. The way you order is through a QR code that is brought to the table. The code brings you to a Japanese only site(easily translated in Google Chrome), which you use to order the meat and drinks. We were given 2 hours to enjoy the meal, and we used every minute of it. It was absolutely delicious and we had so many options. We ended up paying about 6000 yen per person, with the all you can drink only being 500 yen per person. I’m a 2nd generation Japanese from Canada living in Japan. My nephew and his fiancée came to visit Japan for the 1st time. A trip of a lifetime. UNTIL they went to this restaurant, they were having a great time. They were NOT admitted!!! The staff crossed their arms over their chests and said “NO”. My nephew is 1/2 Japanese but doesn’t speak Japanese and they both dress like North Americans. They were treated quite rudely and I found out my nephew’s fiancée was so upset and shocked by this experience she was crying!!! Is this how Japan treats foreigners??? I called this restaurant and found out they were not full. They did remember my nephew coming by and the poor girl who answered the phone did apologize…barely. We had an unforgettable dining experience, and it was all thanks to our incredible waiter, Kyohei. From the moment we sat down, his kindness and patience set the tone for the night. Even with the language barrier from us since we do not speak Japanese, Kyohei went above and beyond to ensure we felt comfortable, taking the time to explain the menu and recommend dishes that turned out to be fantastic. The meats and vegetables we grilled were top-notch, and the entire atmosphere felt like home—sharing delicious food and great conversations with friends around the BBQ.
