Yakiniku Rikimaru is famous or well known in Japan for their Wagyu beef. They have several locations here in Osaka in Sennichimae, and there are several locations in Tokyo. Went to this location for early dinner at 5ish and it’s located in the Mall up on the 2F. It was already busy but there was a wait once we finished our dinner. Good thing they open really late, I believe 1am.
Staff were running a mile a minute to help the staff. They were pretty friendly but hard to chat with demanding customers. LOL We chose the ‘Wagyu Beef Course’ select for 90 minutes but once we sat, it was already at 65 minutes left on the clock. If you look at my Google translate on the price menu, it says last order 65 minutes so once you sit, it’s 65 minutes start. Your table or group has to choose all the same courses so expect that. The time we choice was not bad for three people. We had our fill of food within that time. We didn’t choose the unlimited drinks as we can’t drink too much to eat a lot. We just had one coke and one water which was good enough for us.
There is a time stamp for how many minutes you have left while we selected our choices. We did it three x twelve selections. We tried many of the Wagyu beefs and a few of the other beef selections but ended up getting all Wagyu beef selections as it was so good and soft. No sauces needed. We didn’t get any seafood, pork or chicken as our time would be wasted if we chose the Wagyu Beef course. They served us with two sauces but I really liked the lighter sauce, not the darker one. We choose plenty of veggies to off set the oils of the beef. The veggies were good as well.
This location has plenty of seats but not really good for big groups unless you separate tables. The largest table was for like 6 adults but one burger? I believe it’s worth it to try this place once and hopefully you don’t have to wait. Japan has many places like this so see which is...
Read moreThis restaurant serves high quality, all you can eat wagyu yakiniku, and it was delicious. I highly recommend getting the wagyu option, I only ordered meat from the wagyu menu and didn’t feel the need to try from the other menus at all.
There are a variety of cuts to choose from and I would recommend ordering at least one of everything to see what you like. For me, it was the #1 and #2 best sellers of wagyu outside skirt and wagyu loin. The loin is fattier with the incredible marbling you expect, while the outside skirt is not as marbled but just as tender. All the cuts have a slightly different taste, and that the variety meant I would never get sick of any individual cut.
The cold noodles were also a sleeper hit that I discovered way too late, it’s such a perfect pairing with the meat.
Remember to keep an eye on the time and get your last order in before the cut off time. I was a little slow at the start by only cooking 1-2 pieces of meat at a time, so I barely had enough time to order all that I wanted.
I got a reservation for right when they opened at 4pm (the only time slot that was available), but I think it’s a great time if you can eat dinner a little early. After sitting down and ordering the top AYCE menu, we were told you must order one drink per person with this menu and the price is on top of the AYCE menu. No big deal, we ordered a drink each. We opted for the 120 minute menu instead of the 90 min menu. Both menus cut off your ordering time by half an hour before your total time is up. Initially our orders came very quickly. All orders of the beef tongue were very tough and chewy. The wagyu loin was tender and tasty. As ordered more of the wagyu loin, the quality got fattier and fattier. At about the 55 minute mark, our orders stopped coming. We waited about twenty minutes before asking about our orders. They told us there was nothing in the queue for us. I told them we did not receive the last five things we ordered and they said they will check. All five things showed up eventually. I ordered another plate of loin and that took another ten minutes.
