Sotetsu Grand Fresa Osaka Namba offered a phenomenal location along with beyond satisfactory amenities. To start, I must mention that the room was more spacious than some of the other hotels I have been to. The bathroom was clean and well furnished and I had no trouble controlling the temperature in the room or the shower. In addition, their breakfast, served buffet style, was rather satisfactory. Primarily, the buffet was split into two broad categories of "Western" and Japanese cuisine. The Japanese side offered classics such as udon, rice, miso soup, and tofu, while the "Western" side offered an assortment of breads, corn soup, and pancakes. I say Western with quotation marks as I would imagine most people from Europe or North America would consider the fares offered a far cry from that which they are familiar. Besides that, it is also worth noting that the buffet would cycle between multiple different options on a daily basis to prevent people staying multiple days from getting bored of consuming the same dishes daily. Other than the hotel's facilities, it is also important to draw attention to the location of the hotel. The hotel has a wide array of different restaurants to visit and is located close to both Dotonbori and the subway. This subway is rather convenient as it offers easy access to most areas of interest in Osaka. It is also imperative for me to mention here that there is a convenience store located basically next to the hotel which is, as the name would suggest, quite convenient. In addition, for those who are into anime, the hotel is walking distance fron Dendenmachi. Overall the experience was pleasant. The only issue if I had to say was that there was a high density of people in the hotels vicinity. This issue is further exacerbated on holidays, but this should only pose an issue to...
Read more10/10 for location (Across Dotonbori; the metro train entry/exit was a few minutes walk to Shinsaibashi; and pick up location for bus or klook tours is a 2 to 3 minutes walk (usually across the hotel). 10/10 for the check in/check out machines which were convenient to use; but should a guest encounter difficulty using it, the staff are very attentive and quick to help. I did have hotel stuff we’re all super friendly and helpful, polite neatly dressed in professional looking. We had a last-minute request to extend our stay in the same room and we’re delighted when the staff politely did their best to accommodate our request. Thank you to the staff for making us feel valued. 10/10 for the supplies- these were strategically located, immediately visible to guests who can freely choose the supplies. The rooms we reserved made efficient use of space. It may seem cramped for other guests; thus, be sure to select the best room that the suits your need. We enjoyed the bedroom and bathroom with toilet ( loved the bathtub and warm toilet seats). Buffet breakfast is available. There is also a restaurant just outside the hotel doors; while convenient stores are a few steps away. So that’s a Grand in Fresa was the best choice for us. Thank you to the hotel staff for making our stay so much pleasant and relaxing. I will definitely come back to this hotel. Thank you to Trip.com for providing a wide choice of hotels and rooms; enabling us to choose the accommodation best suited for my family. I will recommend Trip.com to my friends and...
Read moreI have stayed at this hotel several times, and the main reason I choose it is its convenient location. It’s just a 5-10 minute walk to the lively Dotonbori area, Nippombashi metro station and Kuromon Market. The hotel offers a self-check-in and check-out system through terminal machines which is very easy and convenient. Personal care items, such as hair combs, hairbands, hair covers, razors, cotton buds, coffee/tea bags and pyjamas are available in the lobby for guests to use.||We booked a superior twin room with two single beds. The room size was adequate for two people with two medium-sized luggage bags. The bathroom was small with an automated toilet which is typical of Japanese standards.||There are two areas that could be improved: 1) the room’s Wi-Fi was a bit slow and browsing wasn’t very smooth, and 2) the air conditioning defaulted to heating even though the weather outside was only around 10-15°C. The room became stuffy and warm, so I chose not to turn on the air conditioning during my 5-night stay. Eventually, I had to open the window but it could only open slightly.||I decided to try the hotel breakfast and paid for it on two days since it wasn’t included in my booking. The selection was fairly standard and decent but nothing fancy with limited options. For the price, you can find better quality food outside the hotel.||Overall, the hotel's location is the key reason I continue to stay here. I will still choose this hotel if I return to Osaka again one day and hopefully, it will improve and become better in the...
