Mind blowing but in a bad way 😔

He takes our order. It’s after 19. We order beer, set of sushi, maki and a big bowl with rice and sea food.

We make sure to ask if it’s ok to give the baby her bento. He clearly says yes. After a while of feeding, he comes and shows the sign that own food is not allowed 🤯 What ?! … Hmm 🤨 We again say it’s the babies bento 🍱 and he again says it’s fine 🤨 😳

Beer, set and maki comes, but we keep waiting for the bowl … It’s getting late and I’m getting restless. Other customers come and he serves them before he’s finished with us 😳 Hm… has he forgotten ? Maybe he doesn’t care ? Other customers come and he still doesn’t serve us. We ask to cancel our last meal as it’s late and we must get back - it’s close to 21 😱 He says he served us the dishes we ordered. No apology no nothing. We say it’s not the case as we ordered more. At the table we made sure to show and translate to him so that everything is clear. One of us even approached him after ordering to make sure that the sea urchin in the big bowl is mega fresh due to previous bad experiences with it. He said yes (!) We pay. He never apologises 🫩They never apologise for this 🫣

The scallop in the set wasn’t fresh. I had a fresher one from Coop … 😓

Found this small sushi restaurant close to our hotel and had a great experience! The chef and manager were very kind and did their best to communicate with us even though our Japanese is limited. They were very busy and only have one chef but we could see they were working very hard. It was fun watching the chef make sushi at the counter! The other customers at the bar were also really friendly and tried their best to speak to us in English.

The sushi was very fresh and great quality. You could see the chef took care with each dish and tried to bring out the unique flavors of each fish. There was a small seating charge that also included pickles and a seaweed dish but there were clear signs and they also let us know at the beginning...

Mind blowing experience. Quaint eatery tucked away along the shopping street. The sushi master takes pride in his food and you can feel his passion while preparing the sushi. The photos do injustice to the quality and intricateness of the sushi. The sushi master and his assistant are very friendly and they will happily convo with diners using a translator device. Perfect place for a nice dinner away...
