Hokkaido cuisine & Seafood BBQ "Uoman" Otaru Station — Restaurant in Otaru

Very disappointed with this restaurant, it was in a convenient location as it was about 5 minute's walk from the hotel, after seating at the table I asked for brand of sake that was advertised in their menu and was told they were out of stock, then I asked for the fried yellow tail and again was told there was no stock, if I had walked in at the end of the evening I could understand but as there were only 2 other tables that were occupied I couldn’t help but think that I was being sold something more expensive because I’m an overseas tourist. There’s no way I would go back to any of the restaurants that are affiliated to this chain as I consider them to be a rip off. One more thing if management are going to take this approach, they should be the ones coming out to explain themselves to the diners rather than expecting innocent young staff the bear t0 do their dirty work. They charged us 3xx yen(also add tax to be 4xx) per head on top of our orders. I asked and they said it was Cover Charge. But we cannot see in any menu book or any sign board. And they did not tell us before ordering. Not told even when billing, we had to see by ourselves that 1 item added in the bill. The waiter had to run to the owner when we asked what was 1 itme added. Firstly there’s a cover charge of 475Yen!! Service was bad, my table was full I ordered lots of food and there’s no place to put it, they don’t come and clear your finished plates and just let it piled up. Fish was not fresh, sashimi was the thinnest slice I have ever seen in Japan. Highball with no alcohol ( should have called it lowballs) only reasonable food is edamame which is serve hot but not fantastic also. Nothing here is good and it gives a bad image of how Japanese food should be. Dine at...
