店内にクラシック・カーが展示されている、という一風変わったカフェです。 店の東側の窓の席に座ると、目の前に小樽運河の風景が広がり、晴れた日にはクルーザー等が運航されるなど、景色も素晴らしいです。小樽市の中心街からやや離れていることもあり、カフェの周囲は終日静かで、休日ですら観光客の往来はまばらです。一方で、それを知ってか静かな環境でひと時を過ごそうと思う人は多く、昼食時間帯は満席になることもしばしばあります。天井は高く昼間でもやや薄暗いカフェ内はそれだけでも居心地がよく、そのため客の回転はあまりよくありません。とは言え、流石に14時を過ぎれば利用客も減り、すぐに利用できると思います。 店内の調度品や小物と同じように、メニューブックは勿論、給仕される料理の盛り付けも凝ってておしゃれです。料理は見た目だけではなく味付けも素晴らしかったです。主な料理はカレーとパスタですが、ソースは濃すぎず、辛さも程よく、絶妙な味付けに仕上がっていたと思います。 一方で、少ないスタッフでやりくりしていたからか、スタッフは一様に忙しなく、注文等で声が掛けづらい時がありました。接客対応は丁寧であったため不愉快な思いはしませんでしたが、忙しない様子を見ながらの食事はちょっと落ち着かない雰囲気を感じました。特に昼食時間帯は混雑することもあり、スタッフの対応にも余裕があまり感じられないことがあるので注意が必要です。

It's an unusual cafe with classic cars on display inside. If you sit at a window seat on the east side of the cafe, the view of the Otaru Canal spreads out before your eyes, and on a clear day, you can see cruisers and other vessels in operation, making for a spectacular view. The cafe is somewhat far from the center of Otaru City, so the area around the café is quiet all day long, and even on holidays, the tourist traffic is sparse. On the other hand, there are many people who know this and want to spend a moment in a quiet environment, so the cafe is often full during lunch time. The cafe's high ceilings and dimly lit interior is comfortable even during the daytime, so customer turnover is not very good. However, after 2:00 p.m., the number of customers decreases and you'll be able to use the cafe quickly. Like the furnishings and accessories in the cafe, the menu book is elaborate and stylish, as well as the presentation of the food served. The food was not only visually appealing but also wonderfully seasoned. The main dishes were curry and pasta, but the sauces were not too rich, not too spicy, and exquisitely seasoned. On the other hand, the staff was uniformly busy, perhaps because they had to make do with a small number of staff, and it was sometimes difficult to talk to them about orders and the like. The service was polite and attentive, so I did not feel any discomfort, but I did feel a little uncomfortable eating while watching the staff being kept busy. Dropped this Cool Café for a Cuppa & Double Cheesecake! Cool decor in the middle of the Café. Owner/ Chef & Staff are friendly. It's been 2-years since our visit. All our pasta dish, garlic bread & teramisu pancake was delicious!

The service, waitress was extremely slow. Requested ice water refills several times, during our setting. I finally stood up and walked over to the counter to top off my water glass. We stumbled upon Press café on our afternoon stroll along the old Temiya rail in the north Otaru canal area. It's in an old warehouse that's been renovated. What a pleasant surprise!
