I stayed here while traveling to Otaru, it was an exceptional experience. This place is clean, well organized and gives a very cozy and home type feel. In the cold winter's of Otaru, this is by far one of the most enjoyable experiences staying here!
The workers diligently put efforts toward maintaining this property by cleaning the beds, and paying attention to the details. If you are back packing this is the ideal spot, as the beds are comfortable and offer blinds for privacy.
There are also larger rooms which have a traditional style tatami Mats for larger groups. There are ample toilets, sinks and showers to keep yourself clean and comfortable! I enjoyed chatting with Wakana and the staff here who were very friendly and great conversationalists!
The guestbook collection was one of my favorites while staying here. I was able to read about the experiences of guests whom have stayed here in the past and it was a very nice to read about their unique journeys and experiences! I was also able to write a contribution to this book which can be...
Read moreI've been going to the Tap Room for a number of years as it's a great place to meet friends and have a chat. It's not too noisy or have that artificial friendliness that so many places have. It's run by Ayano-chan, who's a good boarder and well mellow. The ambience of her bar is very much a reflection of her--cool and low-key. She also keeps a good and ever-changing selection of great beers on tap--every one is different, so the taster tray is a good choice. As I'm almost always driving, I have a ginger ale and maybe just a swish of whatever a friend is having. Ayano-chan also has a good menu of light food, with her...
Read moreThe place is old, but very clean and comfortable. The AC in my room was very nice for the heatwave. The location is a bit far from the station if you're carrying luggage, but close to the central streets of Otaru and the canal. I stayed on a Thursday, so the bar was closed and the place was pretty quiet. Had a bit of trouble finding someone to drop off my luggage, but once I called them they picked up promptly and helped store it. I emailed them to make the booking, and the price via that was unbeatable for what was offered (got a free welcome drink too)!...
